My neighbor does this and he is white. He doesn't hang out there all day though. Rolls it out of the garage, cooks, and rolls it back in.

Front yard just seems trashy and a bit invasive to the neighborhood.

I've seen this a few times and it's usually a black family.

It's the family being nice and inviting anyone to grab a bite to eat and hang out.

yeah its' a big social event. southern-black culture is historically based in the idea of segregation and due to this they live in close proximity with their social group. this is just a social signal of an event for their friends living around them. southern-black culture has a lot of these social events and a philosophy of being social
