What to do with baby squirrels?

Earlier today while sitting on the back porch 3 baby squirrels feel out of their nest into my yard, the first thing I did was gather them up and place them at the bottom of the tree. The mama squirrel eventually came down and sniffed around but never did anything with them. Since then the one male has died and now I have two squirrels which still have their eyes closed and have no clue as what to do. I don’t have it in me to just let them die, any suggestions?

I took 3 to the LSU Vet School a year ago.

you can try but if their eyes are still closed it’s not good odds.
put them in a small box and keep warm and try to feed them with a dropper
you can usually find a suitable formula at a good pet store or feed store or use baby formula
they’ll probably not make it but you could give it a shot

That’s what I was thinking, if they make to Monday then I’ll call the vet and see if they have any suggestions. That’s if the maternal instinct doesn’t kick in with the wife.

I found 3 in my yard 3 years ago and brought them to the LSU vets school.

I’ve got a few hungry pythons, my friend.

Baby squirrels dont regulate body heat very well so you need to put a heating pad in the bottom of the box you put it in. Then feed it puppy milk from a syringe. We’ve rescued several. Just a heads up, the lil bastards can live over 10 years.

That’s exactly what my wife did, they were still kicking this morning.

pretty sure you have to massage the genitals in order to get them to go potty had one that fell out of a tree and someone gave me that tidbit of info so we decided having a baby squirrel was not for us
