my youtube is flooded with game reviewers losing their fricking minds over Madden and Fifa 19. apparently both are just new skins and xUT updates (which is how EA makes that $ these days). with the tide turning with respect to DLC and shitty, expensive updates, will EA have a decrease in their sales this year? or will the arcade-style gaming fans (aka, little kids) who want an easy game still support the shitty releases?

I can't run multiple teams in Franchise mode.

WTF is that?

And spin move is now useless. Every time I try to spin away it initiates a tackle animation.

Full disclosure, using my 10 hour trial from access. Not buying this year

i haven't really been up to speed on Madden (i have 17 but i bought it used about a year ago just to have FM), but from what i can tell, the spin was super OP last year, so they nerf it this year. it seems that's all they do...joggle how OP certain things are and then nerf them

my philosophy on Madden (and, well NCAA to an extent) is that the underlying engine was broken when released to the next gen systems. it was rushed and everything they've done since has been built on a flawed, rushed engine. so, all they can do is adjust how certain moves are OP back and forth and won't fix the underlying issues

I always thought that I just outgrew the game bc I’ve never enjoyed it on my Xbox one. I’m not technical, but I sense that you’re right and that - although I dont Have the ability to describe why the game sucks - I felt it... and that’s why I stopped playing

It completely boggles my mind that EA is one of the biggest gaming companies in the world, considering they seemingly don't make any games noteworthy or interesting.

I guess having a legion of millions of morons willing to give them $60+ every year for the exact same Madden, NBA, and FIFA titles really is that valuable. Those games are inevitability amongst the top sellers year after year.

All true. It gets frustrating year to year

i used to play a metric frick ton of NCAA/Madden in college. i was playing online as far back as NCAA 2005 (2006 at the absolute latest). i was highly tuned into the physics and AI of the PS2-era and while they weren't perfect, it was much better than today. yea it was limited in terms of playbook and such, but the actual game play/AI was far superior

online with the next gen is just a never-ending exploit of shitty AI (like nano blitcez and what not), with EA panicking every year trying to nerf their OP exploits (or just say frick it entirely, like man coverage in 2017)

well they did get pushed out of the NBA market by 2K, which, apparently has the same issues with DLC bullshite

EA knew this was an issue with NFL2k which is why they bought up the exclusive license to kill it. this wasn't an option with the NBA and they took a major hit

EA is now a DLC/coin-based company. they have basically told their fans that they don't give a literal frick about their games outside of xUT. if somehow xUT loses popularity or is regulated, EA may finally have gone so far that they actually get punished

Yea I played Madden a few times since release and have since shelved it, it is a broken piece of shite. I would rather play last years game tbh. But I guess I will just have to bite down and power through this frick game for the year. On second thought I will probably sell it outright and just play NCAA 14 the far superior game

GameStop sends out an email asking if I’m done with the game yet, because I can trade it in for $35. Lol

I doubt it, this will be the best selling FIFA they've had in years solely because of the Champions League and Europa being in the game for the first time.

EA needs to just start from scratch with Madden. MUT ruined it for me. I don’t play that game mode and that’s what they put all of their resources into. I need a revamped Franchise mode.

I only bought the game because I wanted to play with Drew on a good Saints team before he retired. That interest faded completely by the 2nd day of owning the game. I already returned it for a full refund from Best Buy.

I used to buy Madden every year. Before this year I last owned the Odell game and before that the Megatron one. Wont be buying another Madden game till massive updates happen to non MUT modes and until TD.com gives the blessing. Every year the game gets good reviews from media outlets that are either bought off or don't know better giving me false hope the franchise has turned around just a little.

It blows my mind that EA won’t listen to their clientele

We’ve been screaming the same shite for years

EA can’t hear us over the sound of the money they’re counting.

They have pretty much decided that the future of games is online multiplayer and micro transactions so they will ride that horse until it’s shot, killing any franchise that isn’t suited for that model coughMassEffectcough in the process.

the small uptick in FIFA purchases is not going to offset the drop in players of the Battlefield, Madden, and Star Wars franchises they've slowly but surely ruined by not listening to their fan-bases. those are massive, already agitated fan-bases, who are getting served a pile of unfinished shite for the umpteenth year in a row.

and i wouldn't go putting all your eggs in that FIFA basket with the heater EA has been on the last 2-3 years. It's only a matter of time they screw FIFA up too.
