So this'll be my first year not sitting in the LSU student section. I've never attended a game and sat anywhere else so I'm pretty unsure of what the environment is like elsewhere in the stadium. Anybody else here recently transition from student tickets to regular season tickets (in the south endzone sideline) and want to share how it differed? I'm sure it'll be a little bit less intense.

The first year not in the student section is a rough one. Depending on how family friendly your new section is it can be particularly rough, going from standing the whole time and being able to say anything to wanted to having to develop a filter and get your but in your seat.

If you still have friends at school it is really easy to walk into the student section and still have some fun. Last I checked they don’t check for student IDs once you’re in the stadium.

Where will you be sitting? I’ve sat at the upper end of the eastside of the stadium twice since graduating, and the experience in both instances was definitely less lively than in the student section.

Technically I'm 1 year already out of school and last year I had the cheapest possible season tickets so I would just sit in the student section anyway. I still had friends I sat with but could tell my time there was nearing an end. By now though pretty much anyone I care to sit with has graduated so I made the jump to decent season tickets. I'm right on the Purple goal line, west side, above the tunnel.

ETA: Section 424

1st half: There won't be as many people around you playing on their phones.

2nd: I don't know. I'm usually at home by then

Welcome to the real world. Don't let the old salty fricks break your spirit. But also don't be an a-hole either.

Quotes to expect from salty old fricks:
"Down in front!!"
"Don't curse around my kid!!"
"Officer, he has alcohol!!"
"You don't have to stand for every play!!"
"Stop Kneeing me in the back!!"

Well frick.

ETA: Do people in south Louisiana really rat on you for having alcohol? Lord Tiger Stadium has to be about the only place I've ever heard of that happening then

If you are an a-hole 20 something year old drunk and causing a scene outside of the student section, yes 100%. I have witnessed these old salty fricks do it (but frankly the young buck deserved it, was belligerently cussing les miles all game infront of some 10 year old kids.)

So make it your mission to teach the people in your section how to scream and yell like there is no tomorrow. Fire that place up, Dude!

Enjoy:
not getting patted down on the way in
Not having to wait in line for an hour just to get to your seats
Getting told to sit down or to stop being so loud or profane by old fogies

I had this happen and was removed from the stadium my first game after graduating. Yes, I deserved it and yes, I learned my lesson

Apparently jlovel's 1-6 preceded you in the paws system. Do they still use paws?
