There is nothing Jordan couldn't do on the court that James does. His role is different. Better fundamentals.

Jordan was in the freaking triangle offense for Christ sake.

FTR, Duncan is a better Player than LeBron as well.

Years ago. He is a single digit PER kinda guy lately. Like a Solomon hill. Him falling off and them trying to play a still hurt cousins in their closing five will be their down fall v CC next year.

James does things Jordan couldn't.

That's not a knock on Jordan. James has the benefit of playing a generation later and in an even more optimal physical frame. He SHOULD be better. And he is.

Depends on what you're talking about. James is the more versatile player. Duncan was the better leader.

When I speak of James as the best player ever, I'm strictly talking about basketball acumen.

But he isnt.

However you define it, acumen, role generation.

Duncan is better all time.
Magic was better in the playmaker role.
Jordan dominated on both sides better.
So did Kareem and Russell.
Bird has a higher IQ.
Dr.J,Dream.

And He can't stop Durant, the games best Player Today.

How?

I'd contend LeBron's on the same level as Magic there, you ever watch his game films, brah?

quote:

Jordan dominated on both sides better.

I'll give Jordan this bc he was the most dominant force on both sides maybe the game's ever seen but when LeBron was making All-Defense First-Teams in addition to his MVPs he was on that same level too baw

So did Kareem and Wilt and Hakeem.

FIFY

I'd actually contend both share the great IQ, watch some film of LeBron and his ability to facilitate and take the most efficient shot, pretty brilliant sometimes

Dr.J,Dream.

Defined the game, simply legendary players who elevated everything for everybody

And He can't stop Durant, the games best Player Today.

No one can, hence why KD will go down as one of the greatest offensive forces the game has ever seen. Also Michael couldn't stop Nique and 31-year old Magic Johnson in the Finals hence why they switched Scottie on him, Scottie could bang with him.

Duncan dominated at his position, in the height of the positions glamour years with the elites (KG,Dirk, CWebb) all in his conference.

The advanced metrics showed his game never really fell off.(LeBrons hasn't to date)

Duncan won and redefined a cultural. That counts.
Different roles, but equally as valuable.
Duncan made his teammates better.
Obviously a better in big man skills.

I'll take Duncan and his winning record over LeBron(& he should be undefeated) any day.

Durant was well on his way to All Defense last year. Better defender and scorer than LeBron and still a great creator on a team with several.

Is Harden in shape right now?

How did that work out last time for Houston?

This is probably has less to do with Morey and more to do with the New owner not wanting to pay a huge tax bill

Has the same amount of All-Defense team honors as yours truly baw, now I've heard a ton of discussion that KD was suddenly this great defender and all that, IDK how that was reflected in anything I guess since he's 7 ft he blocks shots, great, also he plays with Iggy, Dray, and Klay great defenders so that might be a lil inflated assessment, maybe you can shed more light on that for me

Better

This is not supported by the statistics and certainly isn't supported by FG Pct

quote:

still a great creator on a team with several.

You're kidding? When KD's on the floor with no Steph, that team's offensive approach shifts fundamentally they become a half-court slow-down team as opposed to the transition, flowing team with Steph running things.

That team was 17-14 without Steph that season, 41-10 with him active, it's verified their offensive rating declined SIGNIFICANTLY when Steph is OFF COURT and KD is ON COURT, here ya go

Most on this site do not consider Harden a top-5 player. Morey should get a lot of credit for nearly winning the title last year with a group that played well together and fit the coach's offensive system, while also playing very good defense.

I've never been a Melo fan and didn't really want the Rockets to sign him. However, it's fairly low risk and could pay big dividends.

By Knighting for KD do you mean recognizing he's the best player in basketball? By next year, AD could. A player reaches their apex then gets passed up by other players. It happens

LeBron has flaws, there's not a rival he's really conquered. Not Duncan,Not KD. I guess you can say the Celtics.
That stuff matters in GOAT context.

As for Harden, dude was awesome last year, should have been MVP 2 years ago.
He's also failed to show up in the later rounds and Rockets always chalk it up to him being gassed...well if he's out of shape now, he's going to be gassed once again.
Maybe Houston knows their ceiling now. Conference Finals at best.

Why would Cousins still be hurt by next May?

That's about 6 months after the average return date for this injury.
