Is Texas de Brazil still a decent place to eat? Need a date night with the wifey.

Yes, just make sure you stay hydrated.

If you like salt, go for it. It is a fun experience, but the food is pretty mediocre.
lots of better restaurants to spend the money you will there.

I could do without all the salt. Looking for a decent steak house in the Baton Rouge area. Are Ruth's Chris and Fleming's overrated?

Ruth's Cris is overrated, Fleming's may be a tad overrated but it's still really good. Great wine list if you're into wine.

If you just want a steak there are better options, you go to Texas de Brazil for the experience.
Personally, I like to go to places where the wait staff leaves me alone and doesn't care if I sit there for 3 hours to enjoy a nice evening out. At Texas de Brazil, a Gaucho is coming by every 5 minutes to show you his meat. No thanks.

I don;t know about overrated, but you know what you are getting there. I've never been to Ruth's Chris and thought, "man this isn't worth a shite."

This. They are expensive, but I'm not going to be ridiculously different price wise between it and Texas, and I'll enjoy Ruth's or Flemings much more than Texas. Texas you'll have the different variety. I just can barely eat their anymore with how salty everything is. I've checked it off the list

I've always loved Ruth's Chris and still do. I've never been to Fleming's.

You'll enjoy it if you enjoy spending ~$50 to bring utter shame upon you and your family

Flemings is terrible compared to Ruths...

Nah, IMO Flemings is on the same level with Ruths.... Both damn good

What about Does or Ruffino's for steak? Also is Salt Grass just another Roadhouse or do they have decent steaks?

That won't be a problem. He will certainly be all swole with water after his feast is done.

I don't know about LA but I've always viewed Flemings as a half a step below RC. To me RC was a chain-take on the classic prime steakhouse, while Flemings tries to be a more approachable chain in between those steakhouses and the Outback/Longhorn/Saltgrass tier.

I've always seen it the exact opposite, but I've only been to Fleming's once. I had an old job that took us to RC once a quarter so I got kind of sick of it. Haven't been since I left that job 15 or so years ago.

It goes back and forth with the ones here in Bham. I think it mainly has to do with who is managing and who is cooking. I've had times where Flemings blew RC out of the water and other times the other way around. More often than not though they have been fairly similar in quality, just a different style to the food. Sometimes I'm more in the mood for one or the other.

I think flemings, mortons and ruths are all the same tier.
i personally happen to like Ruths the best of those 3, but flemings is damn good too.
