If Savage QB2, Hill QB3 - who is active on game day?

I say Hill is for special teams and you basically get an extra player who contributes compared to every other team having one active player who is basically inactive the entire game.
Savage starts if Brees injured going into a game day, but Hill active on game day instead of him when all 3 healthy.
Is that stupid or does it give an advantage?

I say deactivate savage and have Hill as the emergency qb. We’re not winning shite with savage anyway

If Hill is on the active roster as a STer, he can go in at QB. Emergency QBs don’t count against the active roster on game day.

Hill. Savage would start the next game if necessary.

Yeah just like last year when we started playing Hill on special teams, we had 3 active QBs.
There is no more emergency 3rd QB spot, but the active roster is 46 to make up for that. It's up to the teams whether they use that spot for a 3rd QB or another player.
Hill being a QB AND a special teamer it's a no brainer for us to use that spot for him.

I don’t get all of the backup qb talk.. if Brees gets hurt we are fricked regardless. It doesn’t matter if it’s savage hill Barret... we are screwed either way

If I had to pick one of them to come in for a half and win us a game it would be Hill and it's not close at this point.
As long as the opponent doesn't scout him his running ability provides so much more than Savage can give.
For a few games in a row where the defenses will be able to scout ahead, I'd probably take Savage.

Neither are winning a game, so that’s not the point. Which was that maybe we essentially have an extra player if only Hill active on game day even if Savage is the true #2 to start a game if needed. With hill, you have a backup who is playing special teams and then have an additional contributing player active on game day. 46 players actually playing rather than 45.

I’m probably wrong but I think there is going to be some packages for Hill in short yardage situations where the defense has to account for him being a runner and a passer ! That said I think Savage will be QB2 and Hill will get more playing time !

Cut or trade Savage and work with Hill/Barrett to see if they can actually develop.

You have to keep Savage around because if Drew gets hurt, he is capable of winning at least some games. Not every injury is season ending. Obviously if Brees is out for the year we are screwed either way.

Go get Chad Kelly from the Broncos and let him learn under Brees and take over when he retires. He’s perfect for this offense
