In his eyes, he did.

I’m hoping that Burrow succeeds, then Brennan/Narcisse follows that up with a couple good years and the ball is rolling for positive attention for QB recruits.
For so long we’ve had negative press when anyone talked about our QB situation. I can’t help to think how much that’s hurt us.
Companied with unfortunate circumstances of good recruits opting for the MLB, staying home at the last second, etc. and some bad recruiting, that’s put us in a hole.

Burrow is the starter. There is no question. We didn't bring him here for him to not start.

Nobody is going to be able to make a call on who's good and who's not based on the individual portion of practice where guys are throwing against air and have one receiver to focus on. Any D1 QB can make throws against air and look good doing it.

It's the team portion of practice and scrimmages/preseason games that will separate the eventual winner from the pack. Unfortunately for us fans, the team portion of practice is not open to media so we have no idea how these guys are performing during that portion. Anybody who says "not what we hoped for" is blowing smoke out their arse because there is no way anyone can make a call one way or the other.

Lets remember one thing, Urban runs HIS offense with HIS QBs. They are not very good QBs outside of his offense.

Tom Brady wouldnt be what our fans are hoping for....Burrow is a transfer QB that was a back up. Anyone expecting a polished beast of a QB is not too bright.

Seems to contradict this

None of our QBs have had anywhere near the level of experience that he has in the film room, on the practice field, or even during games.

Burrow has a distinct advantage the others don’t and LSU will benefit therefrom

New guy here. Lifetime OSU fan. Been following Burrow since high school, as well. I think he's going to pleasantly surprise most of the LSU fans this year. Most people who watched him over the past 7-8 years knew he was a better qb than OSU's starter last year. As you're seeing form all the OSU crap, Meyer has an issue of being blinded by loyalty. Burrow should be starting at OSU this year but he's not, so I'll be buying some LSU gear and watching every LSU game and chuckling when he makes Meyer look a fool.
If you watch his high school film- I know I know it's high school- you'll see he already had a good, accurate arm. If you look at stats you'll see he threw for 11k yards in high school with a completion rate of about 70%. Almost 1k attempts with only 17 interceptions. That just tells me the guy knows where to the throw the ball. He might not be the next Tom Brady, but I think he's going to do pretty well for the Tigers.
Anyway, let's just hang in there and see how he does against Miami. I think it's going to be a fun year to watch the Tigers. I would love so much for the championship game to Tigers vs Bucks and watch Burrow torch Meyer for about 450 yards.

This talk is a stupid and reactionary as the talk that we got the best QB in the nation.

He is without a doubt a good addition to our QB group. Until we play games, that’s really all we need to know

I see the term thrown around about Meyer being a great developer of quarterbacks. I see it more as he is a recruiter of great quarterbacks. He inherited Smith at Utah, Tebow basically was great from the start and showed no real improvement. JT Barrett was about the same as Tebow, he really got no better from his freshman year. None of the these guys were remotely ready for the NFL. It took many years of hard work by Smith to be a good NFL QB and no other Meyer coach has done anything in the pros. He had 4 years to work on Tebow's throwing mechanics and did nothing, dooming his NFL chances

I really don't give a shite if they are NFL QBs. I just want LSU to have a great college QB who can put the team on his shoulders and win a game that maybe we shouldn't.

Yes I have and I am just weary of the repetitive topic posting. I know I can just skip these posts, but usually you can find a nugget amongst all the turds. I wish our admins had the time to fish through and delete the BS posts, but with the popularity of this site, it must come with the territory. So, I retract my "ALTER" comment, but stand by the trolling one.

He'll drop his ace card during the preseason scrimmages.
