Spending a long weekend in Nashville soon with Mrs. BK. Looking for tips on things to do.

My standard recommendation...must have one meal at Jack's BBQ.
Beyond that...go to the Country Music Hall of Fame and take the tour of RCA Studio B.

There will be different people recommending different BBQ places. I'm not firmly in one camp over another because I've only been to Peg Leg Porkers, but I can say that it was really good.
If you like beer go to Southern Grist and Bearded Iris...I found Yazoo to be pretty overrated.
I would recommend skipping Husk, also overrated. But Butcher and Bee is great and Marche is a great breakfast spot.

Martin's or Jack's BBQ, drinks at roof top at Tootsie's or the Bobby, Rippy's, pop into the other honkey tonks on Broadway. Puckett' is good too. There are some cool places in the gulch too whiskey kitchen, biscuit love, peg leg porkers. Museums for very famous country singer

Some questionable advice so far.
BBQ - Martin’s or Leg Porker
Brewery - Southern Grist, New Heights, Bearded Iris (in that order)
Dinner (I assume you are staying near downtown) - Rolf and Daughters, Urban Grub, The Southern, 404 Kitchen
Drinks - The Patterson House, Black Rabbit, LA Jackson

Lived here for 20 years. Love it.
Sports (if in season still)
Take in a Sounds game
Schedule
Titans game (Nissan Stadium)
Schedule
History
So much Civil War history if you're into that. Ft. Negley. Go to Franklin and see Carton. Carter House.
Brunch
Okay, I'm into going to Brunch around here lately. Tried some great places like Mockingbird, but many others. Butcher and Bee already mentioned. Check out 5th and Taylor.
Places To Try
Roof Top Bars
A "thing" here and you'd love them. Acme is the most famous, but LA Jackson (Rooftop Bar at Thompson) is a great one.
Link
Outdoorsie Stuff
Hike the amazing Radnor Lake State Park or Warner Parks.
Go Kayaking on the Duck River. Not that far really and it's fun. Duck Canoe
Food
Good guide!
Good Guide Part Deux!
Butcher and Bee was mentioned, so that's a good one. Germantown has an amazing amount of places to go and not far from down town. "The Gulch" is another popular area near down town.
I really haven't found a "great" restaurant down town personally. And, having grown up on some of the best 'Q in the South (Peebles), my personal opinion of the local options is 'meh.
Pinewood Social is a neat place overlooking the river and worth a look.
If you like Indian, Definitely go to Chauan Ale Masala off of the 12th (she owns that, Mockingbird and Tansu).
Husk for great (and expensive) dining in an old home.
Burgers? Gabby's (by the old Grier Stadium) or Rotiere's (old school near Vandy).
Music
OMG. You can walk anywhere and hear great music.
My personal favorite venues:
City Winery
Schermerhorn Symphony Center
(more than just the symphony!)
Ryman Auditorium - Music Mecca!
Country Music Hall of Fame Concert Hall (best in town IMHO)
This will get you started, but it's an amazing place to visit.

Real country music and a fried baloney sandwich at Roberts.
Family style country food at Monell’s.
The Ryman.
The Pancake Pantry. Worth waiting in line.

We can argue the best BBQ in town, but Jack's is not in that conversation. Nashville also isn't a big BBQ town to begin with.
For the record, I vote Martin's or Peg Leg if you want BBQ in Nashville.

The Patterson House has been closed for awhile.

Are there any decent restaurants outside of, but in the area of the Gaylord?
Posted on 8/2/18 at 10:53 am to Gris Gris
I don't personally think so. The Gaylord does have some nice bars and restaurants though. But it is a close enough distance to downtown I wouldn't.

Jackalope is another Nashville brewery that has good beers.
Right next to peg leg porker which is decent BBQ.

Incorrect. Patterson House is still going strong. A competing East Nashville cocktail bar called Holland House closed about a year ago, in part because it wasn't as good as Patterson House.
