Was Les Miles one of the greatest OL minds to ever coach CFB?

Talking to buddy who is assistant coach at a pretty major high school program here in SoCal and he (who is no LSU fan at all) says Miles was regarded as the best in the business of any HC when it came to OL coaching and development. His HS has had some highly touted OL recruits historically so I think he’d know what he’s talking about
Who is a better mind at their specialized focus unit?
Orgeron and DL or Miles and OL?

O pales in comparison to Miles in almost every facet.

Yup, just look at all of them in the NFL and scattered throughout the first 2 rounds of the draft.
I’ll trust the NFL draft and roster over your friend.

Some of you don't realize who O has coached at various colleges

Les’s problem was philosophy over his coaching ability. LSU was great at what Les wanted to do the problem was that what he wanted to do was not how you win in college football today. The problem was the message not how he taught the message.

Some of you don’t realize how many programs he has successfully run at various colleges.

Wrong. Unfortunately, his talent on the line dropped off after Trai and Lael left.
Also the zone scheme wasn’t a fit at LSU.
NFL quality OL running a man blocking scheme successfully executed the I formation in 2011, 2012, and 2013. After Studrawa left there was a noticeable decline

Yea sucks LSU only has 10 offensive lineman on NFL rosters

Les Miles is a buffoon. Anyone who thinks otherwise is clueless. Les Miles benefited from following Saban, having Jimbo Fisher, Frank Wilson, and an incredibly fertile recruiting bed with little recruiting competition. Les Miles dragged LSU football down. If Miles was good or great, why the drastic falloff?

And yet, without the top tier talent you speak of, we consistently fielded one of the more dominant and intimidating running games in the SEC, if not the country.
Seems like a pretty impressive coaching feat to me

Les Miles outperformed every name you mentioned at LSU.

He was the king of using OLs for toss dives.

Les miles and greatest minds don’t belong in the same thread.
