Eric Church decides to take on the NRA

Seemingly from out of nowhere, this:
Bold move for a country singer
quote:
Eric Church, who was one of the headlining acts at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas, said the NRA is to blame for the mass shooting that occurred in October 2017. A crazed gunman opened fire at the crowd of festivalgoers while Church's fellow country star Jason Aldean was performing, taking the lives of at least 59 people. It was the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Church, who said he considers himself a "Second Amendment guy," blamed the NRA and gun lobbyists for being a "roadblock" to gun safety in a new interview. "There are some things we can't stop," Church told Rolling Stone. "Like the disgruntled kid who takes his dad's shotgun and walks into a high school. But we could have stopped the guy in Vegas." But he added, "I blame the lobbyists. And the biggest in the gun world is the NRA." The "Desperate Man" singer said the NRA has "been a bit of a roadblock."

how would NRA reform or bannign lobbyists or whatever prevent a crazed person from doing what he did?

Why do these musicians and actors continue to potentially alienate their fans and customers? I just don't understand it.

As was said with the Dixie Chicks, “who woulda thought country singers offending the NASCAR crowd wound hurt their career”.
No entity is infallible, but screw him. He’s dead to me now.

Another celeb that doesn’t understand how the constitution works.

No doubt it was a detour for them... but wasn’t their last tour the highest grossing in the year? It had some impressively successful statistic that surprised me but escapes me now.

Without big money lobbying I’m not sure any of us know what guns in America would look like. I’m not getting into the politics of whether it’s right or wrong in policy but without heavy lobbying it might’ve been much harder for someone to assemble an Arsenal like that

I doubt you could identify a hillbilly or an AR-15

No and if it was by some miracle, they simply worked twice as many dates as Luke Bryan who working stadiums.

NRA or no NRA, Americans would let their displeasure with any moves against the 2A made at the polls. Politicians would be held accountable even without the NRA

I enjoyed y you started with a flat “no” and then fell back to qualifying it with why it’s true if it actually is
Just googled quick and here’s some rough data: LINK

I’ll side step the more heavily political post and simply defer to my past statement that without many millions spent shaping our views and laws - our views and laws may be different.

Church is count and I'm pretty sure his "fans" will let him know how stupid he is.
