that is not mandatory to purchase, unlike the mandatory TAXES you pay to the government every year.

So when I go purchase something since I didn't haaaave to buy it I'm just paying that 10% for what, voluntary donations to the government?

We distinguish between tariffs and taxes or their wouldn't be a word for tariff.

Here Trump is talking about tariffs. He is one step granular than "tax" whereas you want to bring the conversation to a more broad level of tax to hit Trump.

Did you decide to go purchase something? Because the government decides for you to pay taxes, not for you to go purchase something.

You are such a moron it is outstanding.

Tariffs are "taxes" the you volunteer (by choosing for yourself whether to buy or not) to pay when buying something

Taxes are mandatory payments from you to the government, decided for you by sad government, outside of your control.

You don't have to buy the merchandise. You do have to pay taxes.

I swear to god I could teach this to a monkey in a zoo faster than it's taking you to grasp it.

You’re just digging yourself a deeper hole man. The simple logic is that tariff and tax are 2 different words because they arent the same thing. Trump is raising tariffs, not taxes. Not much you can argue about the facts presented...
