JEFFERSON PARISH – Five teenagers have been arrested and two deputies are recovering in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting and chase in Jefferson Parish Wednesday morning.
According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, two deputies responded to reports of a group of teens pulling on car door handles in Metairie near the intersection of Esplanade and Severn. When the deputies tried to make an arrest, the suspects fled in the vehicle. JPSO reports that the deputies shot at the suspects and both were struck by their vehicle. Both were taken to the hospital and were later released.
Authorities say the suspects then fled down Veterans Blvd to Clearly Avenue and began shooting out of the car at deputies. The chase ended in Kenner.
Four people were arrested at the scene. Deputies recovered two handguns. The vehicle they were in was also reportedly stolen from New Orleans.
Investigators say a fifth person was arrested in a boat at an industrial park.
The ages of the alleged suspects are 13, 16, 17, 18, and 19, JPSO reports. LINK

A description of the criminals would be nice.

What horrible wording.
Agreed. I have no clue where they are getting these mouth breather idiot reporters these days. Just glad they didn’t kill one of these future murderers so we don’t have to put up with riots and claims of racism.

I'm sure these are fine upstanding young men that are just trying to find ways to pay for their future educations at Ivy League schools

What horrible wording. First you make it sound like the deputies shot at some kids pulling on car doors and then wait until the next paragraph to mention the kids were trying to murder cops.
Well, that link is WWLTV, one of the most liberal stations in town.

Good thing it happened in JP and not in Orleans. Due to Orleans no chase policy they just would have let the little bastards drive off.

Right? It takes a real dumb criminal to steal cars in Metairie and not in Nola. In Nola, the police may even block cross traffic at red lights for the criminals.

We just need more after school programs

I’m willing to go out on a limb and say these kids were all from Orleans and will be linked to several other crimes in the Metro area.
There has been a spree of stolen cars and break ins lately.
Hopefully Jefferson Parish will throw the book at them and not let them back out on the street like Orleans would.
