Rams are suckas for this one. This only made MT13 a rich man.

I’d rather pay Michael Thomas over Brandon cooks. I don’t get the insane love affair that NFL exects have with giving this speed demons so much more than a complete wide receiver.

Thomas is definitely much better than him.

How do these idiots plan on paying the defensive player of the year, Goff, Gurley?

This. The all in strategy usually means you either win it all and go broke doing it or you go broke and have nothing to show for it.

Holy fricking frick did someone just say Thomas will get 24 million a year?

The Rams dumped some of their other players they had in favor of expensive vets on short deals (mostly 1 year deals) so that they could go for a run this year and then jettison them in favor of paying those other guys coming up.
Imo they should have just rocked Cooks for one year first to see how it'd go. Paying him that isn't going to affect them resigning Gurley and Donald (and later Goff), but it will cripple them in FA.
Donald can't be happy he wasn't the first getting paid though. Seems pretty disrespectful, and they'll likely tag him after the year further pissing him off before finally signing him long term. But it's going to cost them going that route.

And if this means we'll be forced to give MT $20M/year I'd rather just move on to the next rookie sensation.

He has had the benefit of catching passes from brees and Brady.
There’s at least 15 wrs I would take over cooks. Probably more
Antonio Brown
Aj green
Julio Jones
Odell Beckham
Deandre Hopkins
Mike Thomas
Keenan Allen
Jarvis Landry
Mike Evans
Adam thielan
Stefon Diggs
Larry Fitzgerald
Golden gate
Jordy Nelson
Doug Baldwin
TY Hilton
Demarious Thomas
Josh Gordon
Devante Adams
To name a few

Cooks is a zero sum player and a locker room distraction.
There's a reason why he's on his 3rd team in 3 years.

I don't get the Cooks hate on here, you'd swear the kid was Junior Galette. Lol So, he had a fallen out with Payton and staff cause he wanted the ball more or whatever, I applaud his spunk for wanting to be the guy or whatever, but I guess some view it as selfishness or whatever. Cooks was really productive with the Saints and was with NE for that 1 season and will be for the Rams. He deserves that contract, shite, Tavon Austin was getting paid all those years for the Ramd and wasn't doing shite.

quote:LOL Brandin Cooks has solid hands and catches the damn ball really well when thrown to, he's not Ted Ginn Jr. That's why his numbers are solid because he's more than just speed, he catches the ball and is a true WR, a true WR despite his size. The Saints thought he was something else and that was another Darren Sproles and they were wrong, he is not elusive like that, but he is a very dependable WR in catching the football. There's a lot of BS on here concerning this guy I swear. LOL

A lot of the same fans will tell you Jarvis Landry derserved $75 mil
The Saints and Pats played hot potato with Cooks bc their offense has been plug and play, they’re smart and it did Not make sense to commit that kind of money to him
Cooks also hasn’t even hit his prime. He’s only 24
Antonio Brown first 4 seasons - age 22-25
261/3561/15
Cooks first 4 season - age 21-24
280/3943/27

Miami did not want to give Landry that kind of money because they felt like he wasn't worth it, but a Cleveland did. Some teams are like that and the Saints and NE felt the same way about Cooks, I get it, but the Rams didn't. They think Cooks is an up and coming WR talent, but those on here criticizing the guy saying that he isn't a complete WR and all this shite are just plain wrong.

He’s still not at all worth the contract he got (currently 4th highest paid wr). He’s at very best a fringe top 10 WR.
it'll be interesting to see how much the Rams try to feed him the ball.
they have Gurley the stud RB.
and 2 other capable WR's Woods and Kupp.

Woods will have more yards than cooks this year
