But for real I don't see the big deal about parking a boat in a driveway.

How is it trashy to have a nice boat parked in your driveway?

We pay $300 per year. They are on point when your mailbox is crooked, but totally useless when you actually need something.

Do yourself a large favor. Avoid HOAs like the plague.

$130

Goes towards maintaining the pool in our neighborhood, landscaping common areas, and security guards.

Worth every penny.

ETA:

They also "enforce" rules like no short term rentals, no longterm boat parking in front of houses, making sure people cut their grass, etc.

Our HOA president is this really aggressive gay guy and he's awesome at bothering people that need to be bothered and ignoring the small things. He's also coincidentally ranked below me at my company so I know he won't say shite to me

Because it looks like shite. I wish they wouldn't allow cars either. You have a garage to park your car not to store your shite.

I would imagine a "nice boat" would not fit in the average drive way

No one wants to see your scooby doo pot smoking van in the driveway.

We have a townhome that we rent out and the HOA covers common areas that include common fences, landscaping, dumpster, and once every 5 years the property gets tented. We pay $60 a month.

Oh. This is a thread where we all pretend to be rich. Gotcha. Carry on.

And FWIW, that boat could fit in my driveway.

lol..we can't all be as rich as you shale land owners up north...

Honestly, we have a driveway that lines up with our two car garage..No way I could get in and out if a boat was there too..
