Anyone know the best place to purchase some 8" X 8" or 10" X 10" 12 ft. lengths of Oak or Cypress beams/posts?

Looking to make a Pergola in the back yard.

I live in Gonzales but willing to travel to get good quality material.

I bought 6x6 and 12x12 cypress beams for my house I’m building from Jones & Jones Cypress in batchelor. Great people to work with and best prices among the BR area.

If you’re looking for antique or reclaimed beams, Antique Woods of LA in Sunset has a great selection. For new cypress, I get them from Cypress Depot in Port Barre. I just changed out my front and back porch post with 10x10 cypress from Cypress Depot. Sumbitches are heavy.

Check out simply southern cypress on Facebook. I found them when I was building my house. I bought 6 8"x8"x10'

3 6"x12"x22'

4 12"x12"x12'

5 6"x6"x8'

And I got a 6ft pecky cypress mantle all for around 3500.

Netterville's Lumber in Woovull is an excellent company to call.

Man I wouldn't want anything to do with a 10x10 oak beam. Hope Paul Bunyan is around to help lift it up.
