I used to get it bad and then I started drinking one huge cup of whole chocolate milk immediately following a run or ride and I sleep with a 15 pound weighted blanket.
I only weigh around 155 so it’s perfect.

TA, I don’t see why you couldn’t run three days a week while cross training to finish a marathon if your goal is just to finish.
If your goal is to be competitive with that little volume, your long runs better be long, and your other two runs better be fast. Not I’m gonna pick up the pace a little fast, but oh my god this 9 mile tempo run might kill me fast. And this interval workout might make my legs fall off fast. By long run I’m talking nothing under 14 for the whole plan.
Anyhow @ HB you aren’t alone. 3 mile warmup, 10x1k around 5:24 pace with 1:30 jog in between. Had a 4x4 to finish and it wasn’t going to happen. 10 seconds off per interval at least; finished with 14.2 in 1:35.
It’s like 80 out with 90 percent humidity and the air quality is garbage. Whomever the frick was burning their fireplace this morning can get a high hard one. Felt like I smoked 2 packs this morning.
Also, grown assed man on a bmx thought he was going to take some laps the wrong way around the track this morning. The wretched turd was pissy I was on the track using the track to do track things… The methheads are becoming a more noticeable problem in North West Arkansas.

I think it will be difficult but not impossible on three days a week.

Has anyone on here ever done a destination race?
I can really only do serious travel during the summer and am looking for a cooler climate marathon for next year. Open to either US or international.

I've done races in 8-10 different states. you don't really need serious vacation time to get a "destination" race in. I've flown in on a saturday morning, raced 80-miler sunday, and flew back home monday afternoon. Its even easier for a marathon. Good luck finding a cooler race during the summer but here a link to pretty much all US marathons.

I ran 12.82 miles in the cosmopolitan capital of the Pine Belt, Hattiesburg, if that's what you're asking.

frick this heat and summer. I've never looked forward to middle October more than I am now, just finished a 2 mile jog to continue my heat acclimation for football coaching and damn its awful.

First full week of running in about 30 days. Tried to transition to my zero drops too quick and got plantar fasciitis pretty bad in the left foot. Combination of stretches, heel raises, and walking in the new shoes have finally gotten me back. It is still a little twingey, but I’m getting there.
Did 7 miles this AM at a 160HR pace. With the heat and hills that puts me at 11 min miles. Getting ready for Mercedes this Feb. hope they run it this time.

I really hate to jinx anything but it almost felt not totally horrible out there this morning.

It’s been brutal here. Humidity has been off the charts this summer.

I’ll be around Shreveport this week, any places to run? Any open tracks?

Brownlee Park in Bossier is where I regularly run, nice and quiet and clean, as far as tracks most should be open that are on school campuses, Caddo does not start til the 23rd so should be no issues, I'd recommend either Lee Hedges or Northwood High as far as tracks to run at and you'll have no issues
