yea im just glad im not having the mental battles id have before. In college that 6:02 mile in the middle wouldve messed with me since it was so far off what i was trying t do and I wouldve fell apart. keeping it together and getting back on track is huge for me.

So hit my first snag in awhile:
Somewhere along the lines this weekend I hurt the side of the achillies (the muscle (or tendon)) on the outside on both feet. It's not too horrible (doesn't hurt unless I'm walking) but because my training has been so intense this sessions and then doing the full Trifecta Spartan this weekend, I just figured it was best to let my body recover after the intensity.

There are guys in my Saturday run group that will run around the block after we are done just to hit an even number on their mileage......

Listen, you can't just call me out like that
ETA: the trak shak loop is a great place for extra miles

No there wasn't any bruising anywhere either. It feels fine today but my bruised rib is giving me fits and I have decided to give it a rest. I just have to remind myself that I have no goals for the Marathon in late April and my progress has been great, a little rest to make sure I don't damage something will be fine...

I run from the start to the finish. If it's even, great. If not, doesn't bother me at all.

I work in IT and everything about my life is data driven. I can't accept numbers that aren't "even". My biggest thing is I don't just round up either, you also have to give the Strava tax, cause NOTHING infuriates me more than running 10 miles on Garmin but 9.99 on Strava

Stepped on a shitty piece of pavement with 2 miles to go on my 8 mile run this morning
Good thing I've torn up my ankles so much over the years that this should heal by the end of the weekend.

Ankle thing got me thinking.... Anyone else have a foot strengthening routine? I've been using the Mobo Board a couple of times a week for a while now.

Are you asking about ankle strength?

Try running Lakeview streets at 5am. It’s a miracle I haven’t rolled an ankle yet.

I'll be running the CCC this year. First time in many years, as we are usually out of town for Easter weekend or I am not in shape. My office is decorated with CCC top 500 posters from the 80s when you had to get under 39:00 to secure one. Now its more like 45:00 but I won't be sniffing that.

You can spell the alphabet in cursive with your ankles. Lower case and upper case.
Take a resistance band and pull your foot in one direction, pushing against that direction with your foot (ex: if you pull your foot towards you, push your foot away). This can be done front/back/left/right.
When I did PT for my ankles, we had to have our heel on the ground and pick up pieces of foam and put them in a shallow basket on the ground. Your heel would be the pivot point and you couldn't take it off the floor.
Those are all things I did for my ankle in PT and I'm pretty sure you can use those as stregnth exercises.
