The Rondo news really sucks. We probably need to use the rest of the MLE to bring in one of these guys.

Is this what it has really come to?

So, last year around this time, Rondo sucked and there is no way the Pels should go after him. He will kill our spacing, etc etc
Flash forward a year later and he is irreplaceable and these other guys are trash. Makes sense.

Seriously, your biggest problem is hearing one thing someone said at one time and applying it to something someone else is saying now and acting like they were the same person.
Not even trying to be a dick, but you constantly do this and it just shows terrible ignorance.

Well, it does hurt to lose Rondo. Be honest

Prove me wrong. Go back and find the thoughts of the members of this board on Rondo in late June, Early July. Before we signed him or right after. Before people did what fans do and talk themselves into a guy. I will bet you its 98 percent negative. Maybe more.

Sure, some said he sucked... some also said he didn't.
There wasn't a groupthink that sided on one topic.

I didn't mention that I am currently melting but trying not to post about it

That was definitely true—people talked about the fit because of the shooting. It was still a cheap deal last year.
A year has gone by, and opinions change though. He was a leader on the Pels last season.
Does holiday handle the ball more now? Do the Pels need to go after another ball handler.
Regardless, it would be hard to find someone to replace rondo’s impact on the court and off the court for the amount of money available to spend.
There was a common belief that the chemistry and closeness of this team was genuine. We would benefit with continuity next season. Now that changes to a degree. Rondo did handle the ball a lot in the playoffs—when it really matters.

My point is: Maybe the system is very friendly to point guards and, just like how Rondo went from a player with several glaring weaknesses that led to him only getting 1 year/3 mil, this system could do something similar for Payton and/or another guy they bring in.
I don't think Rondo the point guard will be hard to replace. I do think Rondo the leader will be hard to replace. But the hope would be that AD and Jrue saw what leadership is last year and they step up. Your best players and your highest paid players should be your leaders anyway. Its their time now.

Tyreke just signed with Indiana. Cross off another option

I can't find the thread for the signing itself, but this one came fairly soon after:
LINK
Gyno was the only one that really ragged on it. Everyone else in the thread was between lukewarm and excited.
I'd really like to bring Reke back. I know that it wasn't a huge sample size where they were healthy together, but Reke + Jrue on the court together had some really impressive +/- numbers, and that was with a less talented team than we have now.
Payton/Jrue/Solo/AD/?? doesn't look like a good starting lineup, but that's obviously not the finishing lineup and:
Reke/Moore/Miller/Niko/Boogie would be an insane "bench".
Reke/Moore/Jrue/AD/Niko or Boogie finishing games at the end of the season looks good to me.
And you don't have to hide Reke on defense like you do Rondo. Reke won't have any DNPCDs (or close to it) like Rondo did. Reke is actually a really good on ball defender, he's just kind of tarded with team defense. Maybe he's gotten better since he left.
