Our founding fathers didn't allow for lots of things that we do now, like women voting, other people than white people being citizens, fiat currency, etc.

Back before WWII there was a very strong push for socialism in the US. Ironically, it was academia that helped shut that down, by educating people on the realities of socialism. We have the exact opposite now.

Academia, with a free press, should be telling people that more socialism equals less freedom. Both academia and the press are largely in the bag for the left so we aren't hearing that.

They allowed for the system to be flexible within the confines of the Constitution, and they even allowed for a method of changing that. They knew times would change and weren’t dummies.
So, you’re wrong.
The problem comes when we decide to circumvent the Constitution because the radical change we seek doesn’t happen fast enough through proper means.

So her reasoning is that Bernie beat out a slightly less socialist candidate in a party primary election, so that could translate to a state victory in a presidential election. Bernie would have gotten arse-smashed in the Midwest if he was the Democratic candidate. Independents aren't going for that shite, and I think more voters identify as independent than any party in that region.
