As Ronaldo and Messi start tDecline, who does the soccer board think will be the best players of the next generation? Let’s say in 4 years.

For me it’s

Mbappe
Salah
Neymar
Kane
Pogba

In that order.

ETA - Mbappe

Salah

Are we just forgetting that a Salah was average his entire career before 17-18?

I’d easily put Griez and De Bruyne before Salah.

Salah isn’t top 50 if we are talking players and a five-year record of work.

Good God some of you are delusional.

In four years?

Marco Asensio. Should be the premiere player.

Germany may have one, Mbappé possibly, as well...

De Bruyne was perhaps the best player in the world this year.

Other names to consider other than ones listed repetitively:

James Rodríguez
Eden Hazard
Sterling
Dembele
Gabriel Jesus
Isco
Kimmich
Neur
Rashford
Sane
Mane
Draxler

Most of these players obviously aren’t top 40 now but have high potential once the 2 top players are gone (outside of Neur).

In 4 years I think it will look something like (in no particular order)
Kane
Neymar
Isco
Mbappe
Pogba
De Bruyne would be 30 so probably still up there
Will someone like Dybala continue to break out?

Kante will be 31 in 4 years so would expect a drop off in athleticism to possibly be a factor. Struggling to think of who the next young world class CBs will be, Varane? Stones? Sule?

Keepers are almost never included in these but Oblak, DDG, Allison will all be in their prime

Mbappe
Neymar
Milinkovic-Savic (surprised he hasn’t been mentioned)
Asensio
Kane being only 24 has a good argument. So many elite players in age 26-27 range right now so it’s hard to say if they are still on that level when they are 30 and older

Love Kimmich too

I imagine Dybala has to be in there somewhere as a contender in the future.

Assuming they both retire in 5 years and ignoring players who are obviously top 5 level already like Neymar and De Bruyne

Mbappe
Dembele
De Light (spelt something like that, center back for Ajax)
Sane
Kimmich

Or any of Sterling, Rashford, Savic, Pulisic.

And for an outside shout, Patrick Kluivert's son just signed for Roma.
