Helping a friend come out of the closet

Last week I vacayed in Florida with some buds. I was cruising down the coast with one of my buds (let’s call him Gary) and wanted to put down the top down in my Eclipse Spyder. Gary demanded I keep the top up, saying it was “too hot” (it was hardly over 90 degrees). I knew the heat wasn’t the reason, he’s always fixing his hair after riding with the top down and didn’t want to have to fix his hair again.

It got me thinking what kind of guy cares more about his hair than riding in the open air? I started to piece it together. I pretty much have to force Gary to go to strip clubs with me, and when he does go he’s not into it. He says he dates girls but refuses to introduce me to any of them. There are other “signs” as well, but I won’t get into it all.

Once I realized Gary was gay I got a little sad that a 29 year old guy in 2018 America doesn’t feel like he can come out to his best buds. Especially me - I’m very progressive and accepting of all types. Hell, I even go to tranny showcase night at my go-to strip club just to show my support.

I came up with a pretty brilliant idea to take the guys out to a gay club. I’ve always heard the chicks that go to them like to get slutty, but I’ve just never had a gay friend to go with. It was a perfect way to bring Gary out of the closet and slay some tang.

My other buds aren’t as progressive as I am so they were not on board with my plan. I told them I’d be the DD and buy first round so they agreed.

As we were driving to the club I put the top down on the Spyder and of course Gary complains. I asked him “Why do you care so much about your hair? Want to tell us something?” and he just gave me the middle finger.

When we got inside I ordered a round of bud light plattys and made a toast to our trip and to Gary, saying tonight was a celebration of his coming out. He just laughed and didn’t really say anything. I thought maybe he needed a little prodding, so I told big shirtless dude that my bud just came out tonight and he should go dance with him. When the shirtless guy approached him and started trying to dance, Gary got pissed and almost got in a fight with the guy. We left soon after. Gary still hasn’t said anything about it.

What more can I do to help bring Gary out of the closet?
