Weekend getaway within 5 hours of Covington

The gf is wanting a weekend getaway soon, probably leave Thursday night or Friday, needs to be within reasonable driving distance of Covington. Only thing I can come up with is Fairhope.

What are you looking to do? Birmingham might be a nice change of scenery and right at 5 hours drive from Covington. Birmingham might surprise you. I recently moved from there after three years and could recommend some things.
