He's definitely listening to what we have to offer. I see some folks in here are saying it's not going to happen, but our chances are way better than you think. That's all I can say.

You may be surprised on that... Behind the scenes and off the record, there's been a good bit of contact between the two sides. Maybe even a meeting or two ;). But to say we're getting him is still very pre-mature.

Here's my view on this:
- We know the Tag's dont like them at the same school because they changed high schools just so they each could start for their own teams without younger bro waiting on older bro to leave to play
- We also know Tua will be a junior at Alabama when younger bro enters college...which general wisdom would be younger bro shouldn't expect to start as a true freshman wherever he goes, whether that be under younger bro at Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, etc...
- Finally, I think this is all a waiting game/backup play opportunity for the Tag family with younger bro. They will see how Tua plays out the season at Alabama, if they feel like he's definitely turning pro after junior year, little bro ends up going there because he'll have the chance to start as a 2nd year player...if they feel like Tua will be at Alabama through senior season, I definitely feel like they are shopping backup schools (Tennessee, LSU) and watching the QB situation closely at these schools this season to see what the opportunity will be like for younger bro and push him that direction so the brothers arent both fighting for playing time 2 seasons instead of 1

I'm sure they're also watching DJ Uiagalelei in 2020, who could end up at Alabama, along with Bear's boy who is a 2019 commit as well

And you know Bear's grandson will get EVERY opportunity to win that job.

Good point, Alabama has another highly rated 2019 QB commit on board with him. LSU and Tennessee currently do not have a 2019 QB commit.

a question for you. Every year or so it seems like we get a last min commitment pull the rug out from underneath us.... especially when dealing with the Gumps.
Has the staff thought about or decided to use the early signing period as the deadline to "HOLD YOUR SPOT"... Meaning, we tell kids your spot is definitely held until the early signing period, if you can't commit at that point then "we still want you, but we can't turn another prospect down that we need....."
It seems like the early signing is a great tool to avoid being left at the alter.
Thoughts?

I think DJ Uiagalelei is going to go to Clemson.
Never in history has there been talent like Deshaun, Lawrence, and DJ so close to each other at one school. Poor Kelly Bryant.

Did it take anyone else 3 minutes to discover teh difference between Tua and Tauojldjoi8djfoij\a?

Well they already do to some extent. But when you get into your top 150 talent, you can't really start throwing around ultimatums, or you're going to end up pissing some of those kids off. Kids these days are as Primma Donna as they come.

So I see we had a visit from Maninoa Tufono the #5 ILB. Could we be building a Polynesian pipeline?

yea. I am 100% convinced that's what killed mac brown. he pulled the "we are texas" card and if you want to be like us you sign by such and such a date. we only want guys that want to be here. like bobby Bowden, Mac built the program and then go rich and lazy and presided over it's demise.

Boy you're fricking gullible even if he did commit to LSU

Good point, just sucks when they flip the last min or they were told to con u and there was another 4 Star CB u tell we don't have room for... guess there is not a great answer

The best answer is to not sign 25 every year, therefore leaving an open spot or two at the end. For example, if not for the Seth Stewart fiasco, we could have signed 26 last year.

Not happening. That family is 100% stamp and signed bama. They moved from Hawaii to dumpsterville where I’m sure they got a great deal on a house and Dad got a plum job somewhere.
Not even a thought he’d be anywhere besides bama

This would have worked before the rule changes that were implemented last year. There is a hard cap at 25 scholarships being awarded every year. There is no longer a carryover, thanks to The Evil Empire and their Lord Vader.
