So the "church" that allows homosexuals to be clergy, that allows women to be clergy, in violation of Scripture, is bringing church charges against a guy for doing Government work.

The UMC has been in gross error for a long, long time. They need to repent of their sins and turn back to Christ.
I attended a UMC church for a few years a long time ago and they actually had a (positive) Sunday school class on Bishop Spong.
