Late to the thread but I agree with the masses.

This kid is a direct product of poor parenting. I see this all the time. And it always has ONE common denominator. A father who loves to talk and talk and talk and intellectually discuss.

Sad part is it could still be solved in less than a month.

1. Cut off the cable.
2. Cut off the internet.
3. Cut off the cell phone.
4. Take the door off his room.
5. Sell all his stuff. He has to sleep sometime.
6. Stop buying any food other than rice and beans and water.
7. Cut off the heat and A/C.

I could live without all those creature comforts for a long time. Would be fun to watch him squirm. Sit back and enjoy his baby back bitch crying. He will find out how tough he is.

I would throw every single non necessity out of his room...before I whipped his arse at every single showing of agression

I don't have children so this is an honest question - how does a kid get to this point? Too many years of parents letting them do what they want?

Most likely horrendous parenting, but undiagnosed mental disorders can lead to shite like that too.

"And I will never hit my son".

And that's why his 16 yo son is a psychopath.

As long as you control the electricity in the house you control everything. I'd just turn the breaker off to his room and he would have to earn the electricity back. Simple as that. He could keep his bed and everything. He could just sit alone in the dark.

If he talked to his mother in that way, I'd beat him within an inch of his life. That kids dad is the bitch, not the mom.

His father is a huge pussy

I bowed up to my dad when I was 16. He smiled. A smile like he had waited his whole life for this moment and I was delivering it on a silver platter. I turned and walked my arse away, but I realized I was about to get the justifiable beatdown of a lifetime.

As a dad I have no doubt this moment will occur with one or both of my boys.

This dad, when that moment happened, chose poorly. And now, like his son tells him, made him look like a f@g and he disrespects him for not being a man. Probably disappointed that his dad is such a pussy.

I did not walk away. I proceeded to get my arse kicked and almost choked to unconsciousness. I chose poorly

but it’s a normal rite of passage moment I would imagine for most adolescent males. The great challenge if you will. The test. When that moment happened, this dad failed his son by not beating the living shite out of him. So his kid is 6’2” now. I beat your arse at 5’8” if you want to get your arse beat at 6’2” let me know. But you only get one free title fight, after rematch, regardless of outcome, you are out of this house forever.

Leverage. Dad lost all leverage.

That’s it.

What?

Sure, testing your father to see how far you can push it and get away with stuff is totally normal.

But the part you quoted is not remotely normal.

Since he kept saying that his son was bigger than him it's obviously a factor. So it's not like his good Christian upbringing is keeping him from engaging in violence, it's fear.

Also, the quote should be "I will never protect my wife". That guy should be ashamed of himself. I'm sure all of his male ancestors would hang their heads in shame.

I think it depends on the son too. I mean growing up I thought about bowing up to my dad a few times, but never actually did it. I knew what the end result would be. I've always been a quick learner.

There was a rather strange votive candle holder in the background on a talking head of his mother that might have been a menora (just glimpsed, not enough time to count candles there might have been too many to be a menora)

I'm a little late to the party on this one, so I'm sure someone has already posted this. But, that kids dad is a huge pussy. If I would've talked to my parents like that, someone would have to do the Heimlich maneuver on me from all the teeth my dad knocked down my throat.

Actually leading to physicality sure, very small %, I would lean to most walking away, but the situation is all too common

My boy got in with the wrong crowd around the time of Columbine. I had a huge bonfire and made him watch while I burned every CD and black article of clothing he owned. Then convinced him I was dropping him off in the streets unless he straightened his arse up. He could only go to school or church and I drove him there. I body searched and searched his backpack daily. He told the world he was being tormented by his parents.
Worked for me.

Watch the dog whisperer. Teenagers are like dogs. They need boundaries and leadership. Since most parents are working in order to keep up with the Jones' there is nobody left to raise except the tv. If you have watched tv lately you will see that most adult males are portrayed as betas, and this is glorified. It's time to man up and take care of your shite.
