Trump swayed NFL owners on anthem rules, Kaepernick case depositions reveal

President Trump's public and personal pressure on NFL owners reportedly played a big role in the league's decision to change its National Anthem rules amid controversial player protests.

The Wall Street Journal obtained depositions from NFL owners, including Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, as part of a grievance case filed by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

According to Jones’ deposition, reviewed by the Journal, the president personally told him, “You can’t win this one.”

“This is a very winning, strong issue for me,” Trump reportedly said in a call with Jones. “Tell everybody, you can’t win this one. This one lifts me.”

Fox news article that makes Trump look like a bully.

I was told Fox is his propaganda bureau.

Not sure what to do here.

What does Trump’s position on kneeling have to do with Kaep’s total inability to secure a roster spot?

Trump’s not the one whose girlfriend portrayed the Ravens’ owner as a plantation owner and Ray Lewis as his house slave.

Trump’s not the one who apparently held out for a shot at a starting position instead of taking a backup spot and shutting his mouth to prove he could stop being a distraction.

I am so thankful that many right wing political wackos and now left wing SJWs have quite watching the NFL.

Last season was so much more enjoyable and this upcoming one should be even better. Not having mentally weak and overly emotional people at games, in bars, or online is amazing.

Every time I saw a “I’m done with the NFL” announcement here or on social media I smiled inside.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross reportedly said in his deposition that he thought Trump “changed the dialogue.”

“I was totally supportive of [the players] until Trump made his statement,” Ross reportedly said.

Methinks Jerry felt exactly the same way as Donnie 9” did on this issue.

Cool. Not sure how relevant. A president being against anti-American sentiment is not news.
