'Solo' Box Office Watch

This movie is off to a very bad start.
Domestically ins't much better. Just a couple weeks ago it was trending to do $150-$170. Right now Deadline is estimating a 33 million Friday, which includes last nights $14 million. So it's really only doing 19 million on it's opening Friday. Just wow.

No one wanted this movie. So they're going to double and triple down on Boba Fett and Obi Wan? Two more movies where there are no stakes and can only damage the reputation of beloved characters. Given that they are only putting out one movie a year, I hate they are wasting years on rehash movies rather than giving us something new and exciting in a galaxy full of potential.

Eveyone bashed us about how this movie would make hundred of millions and eveyone loved it and we were stupid for thinking otherwise. Yall massively underestimated how much money Star Wars core fanbase and repeated viewings and word of mouth is worth.
I hope this movie bombs hard next weekend and it makes Disney rethink their plans. But with Kathleen Kennedy at the helm I'm sure theyll just berate the audience for not going to see it and stay on their path of running this franchise into the ground instead of building it up.

China doesn't care about Star Wars, this isn't news. They even changed the name from Solo: A Star Wars Story to just Solo in hopes they could disassociate from Star Wars a little.

If this movie doesn't recover, it might start the Kathleen Kennedy watch. Those overseas numbers are unbelievably bad. It might only do 200 million OS.

I've already seen TLJ apologists saying that Solo is underperforming because it is "regressive" and not as "revolutionary" and "daring" as TLJ.

I don’t get why people become angry when I say that I want this movie to do poorly.
That is the only way things will change.
Otherwise, they continue down the same shitty path.
