But it sounds like McElroy had some sarcasm in his wish. And it's not about our QBs vs McElroy. It's about us having a QB that other teams fear.

The comment about "See a QB at LSU in my lifetime" is funny coming from McElroy considering we've actually had a QB who was drafted higher, who threw for more yards as a junior and a senior at LSU than McElroy did in either of his last two years at Alabama.

If it was about fearing a QB, this would technically be the first season that Saban has been at Alabama during his entire elite run that they've ever had a QB that was "feared".

he was no better than Matt Mauck or Matt Flynn, talentwise.

he wasnt as good as either of them. I mean one of them threw for 480 yards and 6 TD in the NFL

McElroy always shows LSU respect. He played against LSU in Miles prime. He’s always considered LSU as a premier program and imo he genuinely does want LSU to land that qb that can elevate LSU back to contention.

1-1 against LSU
3 TDs / 2 INTs

3 INTs if you had two eyes and a brain

McElroy would not have been a good QB at LSU
Bama talent made him look like a great QB, he was no better than Matt Mauck or Matt Flynn, talentwise.

As we showed though, that's all we needed. Mauck and Flynn both won titles at LSU and the LSU talent around them was pretty incredible. So with the right coaching, McElroy probably could have done pretty good here too.

LSU has had better QBs than that guy in his lifetime.

Davey, Jmarc, Flynn, Mett for sure. Prob could argue mauck and RP as well.

shite Eitling might have a longer NFL career than him.

But again, he was an awesome QB that season in 13? I think. We had 2 1k receivers and a 1k rusher in Hill.

Would be nice though if LSU could have similar consistent success.

We are the only team in the sec to do that, so nobody is having that similar consistent success.

Is McElroy 5 years old? or does he just like providing hot takes.

Mettenberger was pretty good

He was in high school for Jamarcus and Flynn

Also McElroy was drafted by the Jets in the 7th round which is the same round Danny Etling was just drafted in by the Patriots.

If LSU hasn't had a QB in his lifetime, he must be really underwhelmed by his own accomplishments.

I'd like to see a QB at LSU carry a fricking team not manage the game. Thank You.

Gmac was not outplayed in 2009 and wasn't on the team in 2011. 2010 he played with an injury plagued team. Ingram had knee surgery 2 weeks before the opener and Julio tried to play with a broken hand. Greg suffered two concussions himself that season. We got 6 weeks off, got healthy and dragged the BIG 10 co champs arse all over Orlando 49-7.....and could have been 79-0.

As far as greg, in 2009 He took us 80 yards in the final minutes the Saturday after thanksgiving against our biggest rival. Stuff that made Joe Montana salute. The next week, He had a career game against Florida and made Tim Tebow look like a backup 3rd stringer. As far as his statement, probably hodson was the last qb you "feared". At least for me it was. Tommy could spin that skin. That was indeed before Greg's time.

Greg was a fine player, great student and a good person. We were lucky to have him and that iron bowl drive will be talked about until doomsday.

Mett had a wonderful senior season. That entire offense was NFL loaded.
Not taking anything away from it, but he was very average as a Junior.. at least stat wise.

But again, he was an awesome QB that season in 13? I think. We had 2 1k receivers and a 1k rusher in Hill.

Because that 2013 offensive roster wasn't around in 2012?
At least you're refuting the narrative LSU can't develop QBs.
