Rush made an interesting observation about the FBI of today versus 30-40 years ago.

Many of us have wondered how did the FBI and many other agencies of the federal government become so politicized. Politicized to the extent that they are actually beyond left leaning but some complete leftists. Rush believes the difference is the number of college indoctrinated employees/agents compared to 30-40 years ago. Rush said many of the old school FBI agents were not college graduates but were LEO or ex military that qualified for the positions, I guess it's not that way anymore.

Hmm, that is interesting indeed. I can get on board with that theory.

Mixture of complete leftists and a mixture of pussy enablers scared to stand against them.

Arguing that the FBI is staffed by a bunch of leftists is absurd. I’ve dealt with many agents and a few administrators, and they’re pretty much apolitical.

As we've seen, the dirtiest are at the top making the big decisions (which over time will only compound a culture within an organization). I'd imagine any of the Patriots who were at the top and/or pursuing higher power within were weeded out a long time ago when they were not willing to compromise their country.

Yes, its completely evident in the fair and balanced way they handled Trump vs Clinton

I believe it's more about the creation of the SES and a tribal approach to politics, especially among liberals. They simply won't hire, associate with, or fairly treat people that aren't liberals. This has created a personnel system within federal govt that is pretty even at the bottom tier but with each advancing level, the tribalism increases at an exponential rate.
Trump must find a way to abolish the SES.

How often did y'all talk politics? How did that come about?

Men who have been in the trenches, real trenches, they think differently, they really do, they view and assess differently. The School of Life teaches permanent lessons

Yeah, good luck with that - pretty much an impossible task at this point

I think the requirement to have a law degree goes back a long way.
Also, the FBI has been up to all kinds of sh—t for years; Hoover’s files, deals with the mafia ( Kennedy bootlegging, marcello’s Gambling, testers packing ballot boxes, etc). Thinking they were ever squeaky clean is a fallacy.

He might be on to something as it applies higher up in the FBI administration, but I personally think that the FBI started changing about 15-16 years ago post 9/11 when it moved beyond being a strictly law enforcement organization with some counter intel stuff to a more focused counter intel organization that does law enforcement work.
They are our version of an internal security apparatus.

College indoctrination is out of control.
Hey college was fun...but it would be nice to just jump to law school or med school from high school because undergrad is worthless and full of ridiculous majors that cost too much money.
Might as well spend a year on Karl Marx's farm in the earlier 19th century.

I kind of disagree with Rush here.
I don’t think the rank and file are politicized.
It’s the upper echelon of the FBI that is politicized.
Rush is too broad in that assessment.

Take a look at Flag Officers in the WWII Era vs. Flag Officers today.
Big difference there, as well.
Most Flag Officers are now simply political think-tank types ... in uniforms.

I know a few field agents and they bend more to the conservative apolitical overall, but the whole counter terrorism thing has skewed their thinking. They are also privy to a lot of stuff that never gets out to the general public so they are a jaded bunch as well.

If we're being 100% honest, this is hardly a "liberal only" problem.
It even skews within each group, with flavors of conservative or liberal getting favored.
