Moving to Omaha...need advice

Unlike this year's Tiger baseball team, I will be heading to Omaha for work this summer. It should be a temporary gig of about a year's duration, maybe longer.
I have actually never been to Omaha and was wondering if the well-traveled members of the OT have any nice or disparaging remarks about the place.
All I know about it is that Warren Buffet, the CWS, and delicious steaks are located there and that from my Googlings the place is lily white to the tune of about 73% white people
Any and all responses are appreciated.

Lots of blue eyed, blonde headed chicks, which if you are coming from South LA that will be a shock.
Gets cold as frick in the winter with a lot of snowfall, compared with anywhere in the South.
Summers are fairly mild.
If I was forced to move from NWA, Omaha is on the shortlist of places I would go.

Their metro area is just short of a million people. I highly doubt it's anymore boring than any of the Louisiana cities.

Underrated city. Decent talent. Gets crazy pop up storms in the spring and summer. Cold af in the winter. The old market area is pretty cool.

Pretty good landing spot for Midwest. I think you will be just fine for a year. There's more to it than what you think.

Played golf with the Nebraska ladies amateur champion once. She's not in any of your pictures. She was at McNeese state at the time. That's all I got hope it helps.
