Media hands Trump big, embarrassing win - Axios

quote:

The reaction:

--ABC's Jon Karl, a WHCA board member, said on "Good Morning America": "I think the comedian crossed the line and this went from poking fun to being mean-spirited."

--Drudge's banner headline: "SMUT STAND-UP SHOCKS DC!"
Trump tweets: "While Washington, Michigan, was a big success, Washington, D.C., just didn’t work.

--Everyone is talking about the fact that the White House Correspondents Dinner was a very big, boring bust...the so-called comedian really “bombed.” [Fox's] @greggutfeld should host next year! @PeteHegseth."

--Why it matters: If the dinner can only attract liberal presidents and liberal comedians, the conclusion is inevitable.[/b]
quote:

Wolf was panned by journo-twitter:

--CNN's Jeff Zeleny: "It was an embarrassment in the room and surely to the audience at home."

--N.Y. Times' Maggie Haberman: "That @PressSec sat and absorbed intense criticism of her physical appearance, her job performance, and so forth, instead of walking out, on national television, was impressive."

--N.Y. Times' Peter Baker: "I would vote to leave the comedy acts to comedy shows and stick to journalism at journalism dinners."

--Trump held a counter-programming rally in Washington Township, Mich., where he said:

--"You may have heard I was invited to another event tonight, the White House Correspondents' Dinner. But i'd much rather be at Washington, Michigan, than in Washington, D.C., right now — that I can tell you." [Cheers]

--Something new from the rally ... In addition to "Lock her up" (still a thing at Trump rallies), the crowd chanted "Nobel!" when Trump talked about North Korea.
quote:

"You may have heard I was invited to another event tonight, the White House Correspondents' Dinner. But i'd much rather be at Washington, Michigan, than in Washington, D.C., right now — that I can tell you." [Cheers]
Anyone still think Trump is a stupid buffoon?

They can't help themselves. If the current Democrat party was a person, his/her/(however it would choose to self-identify and pronoun choice) middle name would be "Hubris."

Good news is they haven't learned a single thing from 2016.

Another self-inflicted wound for Democrats.

The abortion political statements; under the guise of a joke was appalling and should have been offensive to hardcore pro abortion progressive marxist democrats and the GOPe.

They clapped through it and no one booed. They didn't clap about the jokes about themselves and saw the Sarah Huckabee so called -fat shaming ashes from her fat to be her eye shadow- jokes... as funny; but let's get real, were only appalled because they got roasted some.

Whoever hired the comedian seemed to have fed her the subjects. The person or person(s) that hired the comedian should be called out and shamed.

Trump is a genius at marketing himself. Anybody that doesn't think so is an idiot.

It’s beyond time to shut the abomination of the White House correspondents dinner down. Or at least take the “White House” out of it. As a good parent would say, if you can’t handle the responsibility, you don’t deserve the privilege.

And you know what this supports? Scholarships for MORE mindless, hate spouting, fact twisting, echo chamber repeating, hypocritical, so called “”””””””journalists “”””””””””.

Next year a comedian should say that Obama kept his kids from jumping on the bed by putting Velcro on the ceiling. Let's see how that one goes over

Well in fairness to the DNC/MSN Political Complex, it’s easy to cross the line when you can’t see the line!

Or talk about how one of the daughters became an Ivy League beer pong champ straight out of the White House.

Bush twins go out drinking with fake IDs? Media jokes for ages.

Obama daughter gets shitfaced playing drinking games at a fraternity house? We don’t make the children into a news story.

I'm just wondering when the dinner turned into a Roast... or was it always like that? I've never really tuned in.

Winston is right, Trump needs to start cranking up the Nobel hype. "Donald, Donald, they're saying you're a sure thing for the Nobel"

For awhile it was self depracating humor with a touch of jokes about others. After Trump dared to not allow HRC from being crowned with Jeb! as the fall guy (Like McCain and Romney were) it went full blown tacky CNN.

I want to know the names of the commission/committee that hired this comedian and fed her the joke topics I am sure...

The WHCD has been a liberal circle jerk for years.

Just watch any of the late night "comedy" shows since Reagan was office and its a WHCD conservative roast Monday through Friday, all year long.
