the current principal and new priest did not agree on the way he wanted to go with the school. she resigned .
As in wanting to start giving out vouchers...supposedly.

Moscona likes being called principal just doesn’t like to do any of the responsibilities. The improvements at Mercy are thanks to the priest not him. There’s a reason he’s never at one place too long.
That's almost verbatim what I heard. Must be true or a well-orchestrated coup.

Looks like it's time for him to go around the Archdiocese of Baton Rouge

So STM parents should expect bump in tuition with limited vouchers the first year and 250+ vouchers added in '19-20 school year. They wanna get back to 1000+ amazing pupils. Problem is lil Saigon aint got that many kids w $, blacks mostly avoid STM and smart whites are punching out fast. Moscona will be a Yes man with a hint of CURDOG greatness.
FWIW Judy (outgoing principal) says that attendance numbers will be exactly the same next year. But I think she know not how fast an Alello can frick up things...
Which brings up, whats with the OTs love for Father M?

STM is also dealing with the closing of ST Louis King of FRance. that school is about majority voucher kids. I'm not sure if they are getting pressure at STM to let in those voucher kids.

Correct. Each day Alello the great actuary has been thinking income kids vs voucher kids and how to charter STM smartly. Sales guy - check.
Long term Playbook for him looks like.
1- In June invite top 20% vouchers from StLKoF tell parents it allows for new football pads, bigger band and best grade school play on earth and raise tuition $100/ month to pay for it. 2- Next year '19-20 say, see that wasnt so bad max out STM campus with vouchers kids. Offer free new uniforms (vouchers cant buy shite) and a new cafeteria with a state grant of course 3- call it a private - charter success! 4- hope he and Moscona transfers out of BR before the inevitable loss of Blue ribbon status...your welcome for the conjecture. Truth is Sherwood Forest is going down for the count and will never gentrify like area around Mercy has.

I think you may be on to something there. It happened to St. Louis King of France. The areas surrounding the church/school no longer have the amount of families willing to pay for Catholic education as they once did. I'm not saying this will happen to STM immediately but the decline has to be happening. Mercy is very close to Florida Blvd/Mall City but it is also next to some of the most expensive real estate in the city. If I had to bet on long term viability, I would put my money on Mercy...for now.

Alello is a good priest and very down to earth. Of course he’s thinking about how to bring the school back to prominence. That’s one of the responsibilities of his job

Heck I wouldn't even worry about for now. Mercy is bursting at the seems and building like crazy.

Still on the Mercy waiting list so yea they’re doing fine.

That decided unilaterally to accept vouchers. LOTS of pissed off parents and staff. He is a progressive mini pope.
