How is this fun? It is a chore. WHen asked what they would rather do for fun yard work, zurich classic, or festivals they choose freakin yard work over anything else. I ask again how in the hell is this fun?

It gets baws out of the house and away from nagging Mrs. Baws.
Plus, it gives some a sense of pride in keeping up something.
Sorry that you lack ambition and discipline.

Maybe they hate golf and festivals so yard work is the only option they don’t hate?

I would choose painting the house over watching someone play golf

Maybe they would rather take care of their responsibilities than ignore them.

I find none of those things to be fun. You Louisiananians are a weird bunch.

Didn't this thread just happen?

When you have two children under the age of 2, you have wet dreams about doing yard work.

I hate mowing grass, weedeating, and picking up limbs, so I pay someone to do that ($60 every other week).
I love to garden though- nothing beats a BLT with a homegrown tomato just picked from the vine or eating blueberries straight from the bush when they are still covered in dew.

I don't consider it a chore, but I also don't consider it fun and would have chosen either of the other two in that situation. I do get a sense of accomplishment with it though, so I don't hate it.
Yeh, cutting the grass is sort of a "peaceful" situation.

Yea, drinking outside listening to music or watching someone play a game on a beautiful day is really strange. Nowhere else in the world could you find someone doing those activities.

Things that aren’t strictly entertainment can be enjoyable.
Some people like cooking. Some people like making crafts. Why would yard work be different?

My back is telling me that the 2,000 lbs. of dirt I moved around yesterday getting my beds ready was no fun.

Also depends if you've got a tiny yard and use a push mower or a big yard and use a riding or zero turn. It's a relaxing/peaceful time when I'm cruising around on the zero turn and have my headphones in.
Who in the hell wants to go watch other people play golf, your sense of fun is crap. Only some festivals are worth a shite, so there's that.

My property is my biggest investment. Not sure if fun is word I use, moreso important, responsible, & pride come to mind with regards to the maintenance of that investment. When I drive by unkept properties I assume owners are fat, ignorant, lazy, & have bad hygiene.

We can’t do all 3? I don’t “like” yard work, but I do like the sense of accomplishment while I sip a cold beer and survey my property after putting in work.
