Anticipation couldn't really be higher for Quentin Tarantino's (possibly penultimate) new film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which only gets more exciting the more we learn about it.
Set against the counterculture explosion in LA in 1969, the film will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt (acting together for the first time), reportedly as a TV cowboy actor and his long-serving stunt double respectively.
quote:
DiCaprio said that having read the script he believes it is one of the director's best, while Sony chairman Tom Rothman declared it the best screenplay he had read in 30+ years in the business.

It’s his best concept since Inglourious Bastards. I’m really looking forward to it, and is a setting Tarantino can thrive in.

Pitt + DiCaprio + Tarantino
The floor for this movie is "very entertaining with great acting and a good soundtrack"

Over/under on number of "N-words" the movie will have?
I'll set it at 20

15 ... let's remember, this is about Hollywood, it's #MeToo and #BLM these days, plus there is no Sam Jackson in this movie. Well, not yet anyway.

It's still QT directing/ writing this movie.

Sounds like he's going out with a bang

People will just have to deal with it. No movement will prevent QT from using the N word. In fact, the more sensitive people get, the more he will use it.

Also in the statement, Tarantino said, “I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an LA and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore.

It'll be a steaming pile just like every other movie he's ever made. I really don't understand the appeal......

You serious? If not, that's the shittiest troll attempt I've ever seen. If you are, then God bless your little heart.

Exactly. Im far from a Tarantino fan, but the guy has put out a few of the best movies of the past 25 years. Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Inglorious Basterds are either classics or close to it.
I will say that The Hateful Eight, Django, and Kill Bill are overrated.

I'd throw Basterds in the "overrated" group. Admittedly, I'm not a QT fan, but I never got the appeal. Had a few nice set pieces but thought it was overall pretty much meh.
Jackie Brown and Dogs are strong, though.

EXCLUSIVE: Quentin Tarantino is expanding the cast of his upcoming film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. He is in talks with Burt Reynolds to play George Spahn, and also in early discussions with his The Hateful Eight co-stars Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Michael Madsen to play smaller roles in the film. They would join Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, who are already set.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tarantino put a straight up rape of starlet by a producer in this movie.

It had like 8 total where you could cut the tension with a knife. The writing and tension in that film are incredible. Never has a glass of milk been more terrifying.

In this environment, not at all. He can capitalize on the #MeToo movement with this movie and exploit it for all its horrors.
