Barbara Bush’s Secret Service detail refuse to leave her side until she’s buried

quote:
When I was selected to the Presidential Protective Division, I attributed my desire to join the first lady’s detail to those moments with Mrs. Bush. I wanted to protect the institution of the first lady to ensure that an administration’s compassion and conscience would never be jeopardized.
With the utmost seriousness, Secret Service agents assigned to the first lady take the sacred responsibility of protecting a political and cultural icon, knowing full well that any harm that comes to the first lady could impede the President’s ability to govern.
The United States Secret Service code name for Barbara Bush was “Tranquility.” It exemplified her demeanor and its calming, humanizing and gentle effect on those around her. She will be forever missed.
Some photos in Houston today at St. Martin’s, where admirers of Mrs. Bush are paying final respects. Anyone is welcome to visit. Mrs. Bush’s funeral will be tomorrow.

I think Hillary and Michelle’s details have said similar things but with a different meaning.

More black folks in those few pictures than I would have imagined went to the entire service.

Absolutely beautiful and classy! Like the lady herself!
Take these photos and stick them down the throat of that piece of crap from Fresno State. This 'racist' First Lady is receiving the respects and flowers of a whole lot of 'colored folk.'
And to the person who downvoted the OP, go jump off a ravine!

Barbara Bush is being the treated the way she treated others all of her life.
With dignity and respect.

Is anyone going to sit up with her?

This type of honor is earned, not bestowed by the position you hold.

A good friend of mine, now retired SS Agent was on Tranquility's detail in the Whitehouse.
Tom talks about three women with a ton of love: his mother, his wife, and Tranquility.
Regardless of your party, she was the last classy old school first lady. In her book she talks about HW being the first person she kissed. Really a sweet lady.
