For anyone who knows anything about baseball, please give me one reason why it makes sense to leadoff with Jordan.

Lead off homers, High BA, High OBP, gets beaned a lot.

Seems to have worked so far...

It's been working. I'm not going to complain yet.

He leads the team in OBP (.452). What other reasons do you need?

Because you don’t have to be Brett Butler or Otis nixon to lead off. It’s about getting on base and the higher up in the lineup you are the more at bats you get. Simple math

I think he is trying to change things to generate some offense. Putting his best OBP guy in the lead off makes sense. Let’s hear what you would do coach?

He sees more fast balls and he gets more at bats. also he is only lead off 1 time.

Hey bub, you may not know as much as you think about baseball. There are many qualities you want in a lead off guy. I'm assuming your main complaint is his speed around the bags? That's important, but not the most important as many are pointing out.

Well, he lead off all three games this weekend and got on base at least 2/3 of those first at bats.. well, the first one went over the fence.

He leads the team on OBP, he actually has some steaks too, and surprisingly, lead the team in triples for a little bit. He is a smart baseball player that hussles. Also, he will get more fastballs in his leadoff spot. Watson needs to get more chances with someone on and so far, we are undefeated with him as leadoff.

not to mention a leadoff hitter is only guaranteed to lead off once per game
