It’s not unique. Blacks all over the world are a challenge to deal with for society and Christianity. However, blacks are starting to see through their own churches and becoming more involved in the white church. At least that’s what is happening in my community.

Yeah this “pastor” is just another millennial that needs to pull his head outta his arse and get a job to get his mind off of worthless crap

Get away from this toxic “pastor.” He’s just another lost child that’s got alotta life experiences ahead of him that’ll hopefully allow him to finally grow up

They don't. If anyone has responsibility for slavery in America it's British textile factories and American cotton farmers.

Every African American has slave owner ancestors. Africans captured, enslaved, and sold other tribal Africans for millennia and still do.

They have a uniquely ignored roll in all the slavery talk.

in I don’t even have to describe this preacher. Anyone that has attended church in the last four years knows the type.

That’s ^^^^ pretty funny but also true. What’s happened? Where’s the next generation of preachers like Dr Charles Stanley or Franklin Graham?

here's all ya need to know. white people were the last to get involved with slavery. white people are the only race to try and do something about slavery on a global scale. other races treat their own people a lot worse than white people have treated their own or other races. people that live in america hear about the history of slavery in america...duh. stupid people in america think america is responsible for slavery and that it wouldn't be here if it wasn't for a bunch of unskilled, uncivilized slaves...wow. they were slaves before they were traded for some muskets and a few barrels of rum, musta meant a lot to their own people. apparently, africans are some of the biggest sellouts in the history of mankind. it's all bad, but whitey isn't close to being the worst perpetrator. as races, and not individuals, we're all pretty disgusting.

So I’m guessing you’re a strong no for reparations? Lol!

Because of the connection between southern baptist and segregation. I’m a southern baptist but we were on the wrong side of that debate for many years.

Slavery is such a harsh word. Direction is a better word. What if we could give direction to all of those people stuck in the projects. What if we could give those people purpose. Transfer them enmasse to large agricultural centers where they could work and get the enjoyment of working for works sake. Of course some will have to experience positive reinforcement but in the long run they would be much happier.

1. The slavery in question occured in America. Evangelicals are in a position to do good things. Having a responsibility to do something does not mean you're to blame for any particular ill.

For example, Christianity teaches that I have at least some responsibility to my fellow man. I may not have caused anyone to be in tough circumstances, like poverty or a victim of a disaster, but I'm willing to help with food banks and the like.

Poor people are obese. So if you contribute to food banks you're helping to kill them. You need to repent.

So my question is: Why does evangelical Christianity in America bear a unique responsibility in this area?

If any religion needs to apologize for slavery it's
Islam And its still going on today.

The Koran justifies it and even has has rules on how to treat them

You guys simply cannot tolerate any suggestion that some people occasionally need and deserve assistance.

How many consecutive generations = 'occasionally.'

1. I believe all of that.

2. Where's number 2 in your answer?

We the Church are supposed to be about spreading the good news of our Messiah and savior. All this nonsense about slavery is irrelevant. All people who are bitter about slavery and any other racial "injustices" are distracted and inherently not forgiving as we are commanded to do. Everything within the Church should be looking forward and not looking back bc any person putting his hand to the plow and looking back is not fit for the Kingdom of God Almighty.

Slavery was a huge mistake for America
All of the wealth created by slavery was lost by freeing the slaves and the destruction of the civil war

Even worse we were then forever left with the freed slaves that have been a drain on our country ever since

I believe these men are, and I know Mohler is, far from being liberal and just as far from being millenials. The statement and who signed on are pretty significant.
