Recommend a Red Dot Scope for my AR

Looking to spend no more than $300. Can't decide between a tube vs reflex. Sight will be used mostly at the range as well as possibly hog hunting and home defense.

Vortex Sparc AR
Sig Romeo 5
Primary arms Micro
Or add another $100.00 to your budget and get Aimpoint PRO. I'd stay away from a reflex as your primary optic on an AR.

Personally I like the 1-4x scopes on my AR as it gives me quick target acquisition like a red dot on the 1x setting and can extend the range with magnification when needed. Also the eye box on the 1-4 is more forgiving than a prism style red dot scope which makes it easier to use in 3 position shooting for me. All my ARs have a traditional unmagnified red dot or a 1-4x or 1-6x scope. I like the Holosun made red dots you can get for $150-200ish that offers 50k hours of battery life. It's sold as the Sig Romeo 5, Primary Arms advanced Micro dot, Tru-Glo tru-tech, and under Holosun's own name.

Aimpoint PRO. If you have to stay $300 or below, go with a Primary Arms Advanced MRDS.

Vortex strike eagle. You will like the reticle and the zoom option.

Can someone recommend a red dot for a Ruger Mark IV
I'm not wanting something stupid expensive or high end

Just to offer another option, check out the Vortex Spitfire AR. If you don’t plan on using a magnifier it’s a solid option below Aimpoint/Trigicon. It’s a prism sight so the reticle is etched into the glass. I like mine a lot.

UTG
It can stand up to the recoil of my vepr and costs less than 60 bucks.
Have an aimpoint on a colt... Not that impressive.
