Unless it’s on PC where control scheme and power often dictate an exclusive title, console exclusives make little sense other than to line a companies pockets and I will never celebrate them. I really don’t understand why people beat their chest over it. Congrats, you have a game most players didn’t play because it’s exclusive and anti-consumer.

I will never budge on this ever.

PA I’m still playing on my original Xbox and N64.

Yeah 3rd Party Exclusives never make sense. Terrible, anti-consumer practice.

The fact that I can't play older games like Read Dead Redemption or Journey on PC baffles me, and it's sure as shite not going to get me to buy a console.

It's all Sony fans can really do

And the best part, is that 99% of these games they beat their chests over are garbage.

I just watched a video for top games coming in 2018. Wow, talk about crap, especially the Sony exclusives. If not for the PC games, the market would really be bad, and i don't PC game.

Exclusives are often the only reason to own more than a single console.

Back in the day, most games were exclusive to one platform or another. Even the multiplatform titles were often very different depending on what medium you used to play them.

I think in modern times, most third party developers have realized it's more profitable to make games for multiple platforms (PS4 and Xbox One) unless they're Japanese developers as the Xbox brand is dead in Japan.

You really don't see a lot of third party developers making a game exclusively for one platform versus another unless Sony or Microsoft is helping foot the bill for the development of the game or paying the studio money to keep it exclusive.

While I understand this sentiment, and for the most part I agree with you. First parties are extremely important because they aren't there necessarily to make a profit every time: but to sell more consoles so the company can make more money in time. Also a lot of the third party exclusives these days exist because the producer isn't 100% sure they will be able to recoup the cost of the game, or are short on funds: so they let a company pay them exclusive rights.

Bloodborne shouldn't be an exclusive. Persona probably shouldn't be... but it just kinda always has been.

Nioh did it right, it was a console exclusive for PS4, but then released for PC.

Not every developer can afford to put their game on multiple platforms. If the fanbase isn't there on other platforms, and the budget is tight, then it makes sense to focus on one platform.

The need for everything to be on 8 platforms only serves to hurt the end product.
