That wasn't Ensminger's offense.

Ensminger's offense hasn't been run since the Clinton administration.

It was exciting and effective after he was thrown into the fray.. It was MUCH better than what Cam was giving us...... FACT...............

I would hope you did:

Slinger vs Cameron:

increased scoring from 21 points per game to 32 — scoring 38 or more in five of the eight games Ensminger called

increased yards per play from 5.7 to 7.1

"The reason this holds value is precisely that it doesn’t sit in a vacuum. Whether the offense should have been that good or not, 2016 LSU football team wasn’t going to put up those numbers under Cam Cameron. They weren’t even going to come close."

Slinger vs Canada:

"However, taking the point further regarding the 2016 offense versus better defenses, let’s use Bill Connelly’s opponent-adjusted advanced statistics:"

under Ensminger, LSU’s average offensive percentile performance — i.e., a measure of how well a unit performed compared to an average college offense, adjusted for defensive quality — increased from 41 percent to 73 percent. That means the Tigers improved from a unit that was barely in the top 60 percent of all 130 FBS teams to one that was in the top 30 percent.

LSU’s average offensive percentile under Matt Canada in 2017? 54 percent, with an S&P+ ranking of 42. In 2016, the Tigers finished 22nd in offensive S&P+, counting both Ensminger’s and Cameron’s games.

"There is no credible way to deny, at any level, that Ensminger improved LSU’s offense over his stretch of running it."

I thought Ensminger did a good job when he took over in 2016, but the Bama game was an awful game plan with no creativity. I think he could do good, but he can't repeat that Bama game plan.

LSU's offense didn't light the world on fire last year, but I think people don't realize how little Canada was working with. He had a QB coming off a surgery and his two leading WRs had a combined 31 catches going into the season. Guice was hurt for most of the year and O was meddling in a new offense. The biggest plays in the UF and Auburn wins were jet sweeps. And we actually had a very good game plan against Bama which included the longest run we've had against them in the history of the series (a fake jet sweep QB run by an RB...creativity).

Not to mention he didn't get to run it with the QB he wanted to run it with.

Coach E has been training 20 years for this position. Most college degrees are 4 years. I think he will be fine.

Against most teams, I think he could do fine, but he was fired the last two times he was an offensive coordinator (though it was many years ago).

I post rarely in 12 years but I fully agree Ensminger will have a positive effect on the offense

Didn't say he wasn't fired. Just saying you learn a lot from from your mistakes. Sometimes I put myself to sleep at night thinking about what I would have done differently. You will be doing it too when you reach year 70.

Not sure about all that, but I certainly liked Les Miles’ Tigers teams better than Special Ed’s

Why dont you compare the defensive stats of our opponents for those 2 years. That will show a more accurate picture.

I much prefer ensmingers offense over canada. Not even close and we did not really see his offense. Some plays he installed but most came from miles offense

BS.....his motions/shifting weren't fooling anybody. Silly arse offense in hindsight. And still wasn't overly effective throwing the ball. Would not have mattered who the QB was.

I don't think we ever really saw Canada's offense.

Yes, everyone was completely surprised by his offense. There was no way to know what he would implement until LSU took the field last September.
