It's nothing personal toward Ensminger but if O is going to "hire the best coordinators in the country," shouldn't the coordinator be an actual OC and not a TE coach?

If there was a trust issue with Canada, as I read today, or even if Canada wasn't a good fit, then why did O hire him? No one else is doing the hiring.

That's just a stock shotgun formation and not necessarily "the spread".
..

You are right, Ensminger doesn't run a 'spread offense' but he does run a lot of 'spread' in his offense, which to me is the best of both worlds.

Was that his or was it Cam Cameron’s? Stupid.

you are the stupid one. Cameron never ran his offense the way Ensminger did. It was Ensmingers offense with Camerons plays (the same plays that a bunch of other teams use as well)

He was running Cam Cameron's offense, not his. The man hasn't been an OC in over 20 years.

I don't wish for him to fail but with the lack of any actual OC search, he's being set up to be the fall guy. But he agreed to the position so.... I guess we'll see what happens.

So it was Cam Cameron's plays, aka Cameron's offense.

Yes, he ran it better than Cam but it still wasn't bulletproof. Remember that shutout by Alabama?

you need to c'mon man and wake up and smell the coffee. The plays might have been from Camerons playbook, the same plays that are in many many coaches playbooks as well, but Cameron never ran the offense in any way resembling the offense Ensminger ran.

I just said he ran it more effectively than Cameron. But in any event, it was Cameron's offensive plays, you just said that.

This isn't to be misconstrued with me wanting the football team to fail, I surely do not. I'm at every home game.

But I will say that those that buy into the garbage O "sells" instead of seeing it being produced on the field are being duped.

But that's your decision.

I'm just going by what I have already seen of Ensminger running the offense so Coach doesn't have to sell me anything

yet he ran the offense so much better than the person whose playbook the plays came from, just think what he'll be able to do with plays from his own playbook (which I am sure will include a lot of the same plays anyway but with some deletions and some additions)

That's fine. Honestly it is.

I understand sometimes posts can be interpreted as "geez, what's this guy's problem?" and that's not what I'm getting at at all.

Just a basic debate, if you will, you were cordial with me as well. I gave O chances and he squandered that, in my opinion but if you want to be a fan of his, there's nothing wrong with that. Sincerely.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk or rude or anything. That's all I was getting at. I've said my piece.

No hard feelings.

Look at his history and you can see what success he has been. At A&M he had them rolling but JS didn't like the passing game even though they were winning and scrapped it for 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

ok I had to get back up because I just thought of this analogy.

say a painter (ensminger) borrows another painters brushes, paints (with the OE's chosen paint colors and type paint), canvasses, tripod, and what ever other crap painters use. But this painter paints a beautiful painting like a Monet, or Picasso, or Van Goegh with that borrowed stuff, while the original painter (Cameron) painted a painting of the quality of a house wife at a 'painting with a twist' party with her own paint supplies.

Don't you think when the painter that painted so well (ensminger) with the borrowed supplies will paint even better when he gets his own kit of the type brushes, type and colors of paints, etc. that he likes to work with?

ok I'm going back to bed, good night for real this time

You can go back but Ensminger has always used the Spread. There is nothing wrong with Ensminger just about 95% of the people on this Board are stupid.
They've never played a down of organized football at any level either.
