"Many factors contribute to a stable marriage, including the marital status of your spouse’s parents (folks with divorced parents are significantly more likely to get divorced themselves), age at first marriage, race, religious beliefs and socio-economic status. And, of course, many working women are indeed happily and fruitfully married–it’s just that they are less likely to be so than non-working women. And that, statistically speaking, is the rub.
To be clear, we’re not talking about a high-school dropout minding a cash register. For our purposes, a “career girl” has a university-level (or higher) education, works more than 35 hours a week outside the home and makes more than $30,000 a year.
If a host of studies are to be believed, marrying these women is asking for trouble. If they quit their jobs and stay home with the kids, they will be unhappy ( Journal of Marriage and Family, 2003). They will be unhappy if they make more money than you do ( Social Forces, 2006). You will be unhappy if they make more money than you do ( Journal of Marriage and Family, 2001). You will be more likely to fall ill ( American Journal of Sociology). Even your house will be dirtier ( Institute for Social Research)."
Worst advice ever.

Peter Pan syndrome is the biggest cause
Too many broken homes where boys have no father figures and don't learn work ethic, resonsibility, or what it means to be a man
As soon as I have time I'm going to start reading Jordan Peterson's books on this

The Germans have Industry 4.0. The US needs something like that.

the top, we've feminized public education so much that there is a huge skew towards females going to (and even moreso, graduating from) college. fewer men in college = fewer labor pool at the "top"
Look at the medical school graduating classes from any given school. It's females and foreign men these days. Females who will work at an MD for 3-8 years, marry another doctor, then stay home.

It works for some. The rest of us have to do it ourselves.

My medical school class was just shy of 200. I can count the number of Doctor-Doctor couples on one hand. Most of the women in medical school don't want a guy with aspirations interfering with their career plans, learning too late they can't have it all. Typically they end up with mannies, guys with little ambition who stay home and take care of the kids...and eventually get divorced.
The male doctors end up with their college girlfriends, nurses, teachers, or other homemaking types.

this applies but i think most of those people are in that "lowest level" tier that don't really have lucrative opportunities regardless
Seems to me the trend among these types is use drugs, bounce from house to house and occasionally work for cash when stealing opportunities are on the wane.

What do you think the Trump Administration should do
Disencentivize not working. Scale back welfare and unemployment benefits. This is a problem created by the left. The solution is less government, not more.

I am glad that you have video games and electronics, shut down inside the house, because you believe that is what life is all about.
Continue.
But,if you ever get out, don't give up,the first time you feel that stitch in your side.

Everyone needs a struggle.
The higher educated loafers we have in society are in need of something to build their confidence. I've never seen people so lacking confidence or afraid of failure.

Less manufacturing and way more jobs that require advanced degrees. I'll be the first to admit the smartest 3-4 people in my graduating class were girls. 2 work for Exxon and 1 for BASF making cheddar. Not sure that the other one does.
This is a snapshot of the heart of this issue IMO. Women earn something like 2/3 of bachelor's degrees in the US now.
In our desire to get our young women to go to college and pursue careers (not a bad thing) I wonder if we overcorrected in the 80s and 90s and prioritized our young women over our boys in the education system and we are seeing the ripple effect of that now. This is anecdotal, but I was born in 1983 and looking back on when I was in high school, the majority of the most academically motivated self-starter type kids who went on to Ivy League were all girls.
I've talked to a few pretty vocal feminists about this issue and they seem to think it will self-correct and level out. I'm not so sure that will happen before we have an entire generation with a severe reverse education gap and employment gap.

Feminism and free trade happened. There are no good jobs for a high school educated male (even college educated males in many fields). So I think a lot of men said frick it and just take opioids all day.

I had the natural ability to do literally great things for the world but wasted my prime years out of fear of failure, just skating by and coasting on my natural ability and now I realize that I'm past my peak and have to live with the realization that I'm only going to slide down quickly from here, AMA.

For entertainment purposes and real world stuff?
I don't mind being an epic failure so much on the interwebs,I'm just killing time, waiting on something to happen.
Trying to provoke some conversation most of the time.
That is also brutal in a way.
Those blood and sweat things though. I really try not to frick up on that kind of stuff, even though I still do..a lot.
