not no, but hell no

why take a QB worse than Tyrod Taylor, getting 0 improvement with the number 1 overall pick? then follow it up and take the most easily replaceable position in football with the number 4 overall pick?

I would take Allen at 4. Supposedly a ten year starter at rt guard. Chubb at 1. Go with sure things. Both lines improve.

this is a great suggestion

got a line - an above average RB will gain 1200 yards, average one good for 800-900 no line, doesn't matter exhibit A - Demarco Murray

i dont even think the difference would be as big as 1200 to 900 yards, more like 1200 to 1050 yards between a good and average back

So, use a top five pick to select a guy only to destine him to the bench, then a few years later, trade him away for something that most certainly won’t be a top five pick?

What’s funny is I could actually see the Browns doing something like that.

That would make a case for dumbest draft in Browns' history.

None of what you said makes any sense. Barkley isn't a QB and for the 15th time in this thread, this question is about Bradley Chubb, not Nick.

He clearly thinks Darnold is Matt Barkley.

So what I've gathered in this thread is that Cleveland should trade the #1 pick for Matt Barkley and draft Nick Chubb at #4

Holy crap I think you’re right.

It’s still an error-ridden mess of a post but at least it makes sense now

If I was Cleveland I’d take Chubb with the 1st pack, take Tremaine Edmunds, Quenton Nelson or Minkah Fitzpatrick with the 4th pick and take Derrius Guice with thier 2nd round pick if they want a RB.

They need to make thier team talent overall better. A QB isn’t going to do that, and I don’t think there is that can miss QB this year.

And we've already seen that building a defense can lead a mediocre QB to success. I think they should trade back that 4th pick if they can get two more firsts to try to solidify the defense and offensive line

I would take Barkley and Chubb and go for Foles or Keenum in the market

QB at 1, Chubb at 4 if he's there. You can never have too much pass rush. They've kicked the can on QB too many times. They're in prime position right now. Don't get cute.

I agree except none of these QBs are anything close to a sure thing.

Having watched Chubb play the past couple of years, I am not sold on him as a top 5 pick. He is strong at the point of attack, but doesn't have that quick twitch you want in a top 10 DE pick. It's a very weak DE draft overall. Next year is a different story.

I would take Darnold or Rosen at 1, and follow it up with the best OL available.

I’d do anything I can to trade back with one or two of those first two. If the Browns can land four first round picks then it helps them dramatically. Top picks are busts often enough that two firsts is a solid hedge.

They have to take a QB at #1. You don't win shite in the NFL without an elite QB. I'm talking about playoffs and championships. If they think one of them is that guy you have to take them. Personally I'd take Mayfield. Not convinced Darnold or Rosen are better

I honestly don't like any of the QBs this year. Barkley and Chubb are as close to locks as it gets apart from elite guards/centers.

If the point is to stack great players up and wait for the right QB, it's not a terrible idea.
