Yeah I've been professionally moved many times during the military. Coast to coast.

I'm not a single person and do have a family and years of goods. We've packed and it does suck. The money though is probably expensive to move 5 miles.

When I got out of the military, we had them put everything in storage about 5 miles away. Waited to buy the house and then used my truck and my dad's. (Both short bed z71's. It was him, my brother, wife and me. Wife put boxes in her car and dad and I loaded everything else.

It does suck, but I've also had a two guys and a truck move me and have had shite stolen. Even professional moving companies have shite employees.

5 miles is no biggie with a few vehicles and a few trips.

Op can do as he pleases, but I was just speaking from experience. I have moved quite a bit, but money to me is worth the extra work.

We used All My Sons Moving a couple years ago. They were very professional and packed everything up then delivered it and unpacked everything for us at our new location. It cost us around $1,000 BUT it was very worth it. If I move again, I’ll definitely use them again because it made moving day so much less of a headache for us.

$1,000 WELL SPENT!

We used Abba Movers in 2015 and a friend used them last year. Very happy with the company. Also used 2 Men and a Truck in 2006 with good results.

Used ABBA recently and was very pleased.
4 bedroom move < 10 miles was $1000.00.

I don't remember.

However, we moved from Baton Rouge to Pass Christian, so the price wouldn't be comparable.

I have my own truck dick face, that's why I suggested to OP, if he doesn't, then find a friend.

Then go help the OP out.

moved from BR to Maine for 5 months last summer. Used a moving company out of Dallas. Stuff going with us was picked up on on May 6th. Got to Maine on May 17th. Did not receive stuff until June 26th. Had to start packing to move Labor day weekend.

I will never use a moving company again.

Booked with Coastal Moving Co. who subbed it to Angel Van Lines out of Dallas who contracted to a third party to do the actual move.

Save yourself the headache and just get a uhaul or penske. Penske will rent you a big truck with a liftgate for cheaper than a moving company.

Abba Movers

This is the correct answer, I’ve had two full moves quoted and they were much cheaper than two men and a truck (a grand cheaper on one of them). They also worked quick and were very careful with items

Didn’t realize this thread was 4 years old

My last move I rented a UHaul and paid my college aged nephews and cousins each $50, pizza, and beer.

Done in 3 hrs.

Not 2 men and a truck.
Two movers really drag out the day.
