I am hearing there will be a discount for a limited number of senior members, and the total membership will be limited. Hard to believe that anyone would try to run a business like that, but the present owner of La Tour has shown little interest in dominating the local market.

Yeah that’s not going to work
You need more people out there. That’s why you have to lower the price
ETA: hope I’m dead wrong but that model has not proven sustainable twice now

How many members do you need at $200 per to keep it in top 5 in the state shape (public) and self-sustaining? Same for daily play?
I'm not trying to be a dick. Genuinely curious.

Enough to cover a 60-80K nut a month

So 200 members plus 135 rds/week or some variation of that. Interesting.

Budget there is around 90-100k a month give or take a few thousand
If you can get to 300-350 at $200 a month that gets you to 60-70k
Green fee play would go up dramatically because you would only be $10-15 more than a shitty 18 hole course that’s 2 miles away
Start having a tournament or 2 a month to supplement (all tournaments left shortly after the takeover IIRC)

Pretty sure it’s higher than that, but there are a lot of areas there that don’t need as much attention as they get

I don’t care I’m not responsible for it, I just play golf there when it’s open.

It is hard to get 300-350 people to pay $200 per month if you are only charging $10-$15 more than the neighboring shitty course. People have to see it as a value to be a member. If they can just pay rack rate for cheap then why be a member? That is how people down here look at golf unfortunately. Not many people in Louisiana just want to support a club and have a nice place to play and hang out. They want a value plus top quality.

$300 a month unlimited golf and range just go play it everyday
Not driving that far. If it was 30 minutes from house maybe.

Does anyone know how many members it peaked at before the sale?

I agree. Just have good golf. No need for expensive clubhouse.
Is their website updated?
Anyone seen any advertising?
Only a few weeks away I thought they would be trying to get some business.

Definitely. The Bluffs primary problem. People there act as if it is so close to BR but it isn't really. If it were closer to or in BR it would be the top club/course in the area.

I agree, but if you make range complimentary to members and charge green fee players, then you add value
$200 including range and cart fees adds a ton of value
Maybe offer preferential tee times to members
