Ellendale is hurting now. How much La Tour reopening will hurt them is hard to say, but it won't help them. They are private and likely to remain so, so green fee play is not the issue, but they might lose a few members.

They had to go up on fees a few months back and now LaTour opens back up, Im sure that's going to affect them as well.

May have to dust off my clubs for this.

Or maybe just leave them full of dust and go catch some more redfish.

don't know where you got your info about breaking even. but that is totally wrong. the family was steady pouring their own money into maintaining the course.it's a nice course but it will never sustain on its own. will be closed a year from now.

It could sustain on its own, but it looks like the same business plan that got it sold and then shut down is being implemented again

I’ll play it until it closes again

There is a way La Tour could survive and even thrive, but I’m not sure they want to go that route. Doesn’t look like it.

I heard one of the area clubs is about to close, but that is not likely to help La Tour or any of the others very much, still too many golf courses and not enough golfers.

How is that? You and Thib know what would keep it open and going so spill it.

It's all about the money. Sugarland proved that the right product at the right price can draw a lot of golfers away from the other clubs.

Are you saying it will cost $55 a round even with a membership? Or $55 a round or $200 for a membership?

Neither

I’m saying that would be the sweet spot for making money in that location

I would play it at that price.

At $100 per round I would go play once.
