For a little while sure. But I think they’ve reached a nice balance again with the change in the balls. Gorilla ball was fricking terrible baseball. The only reason we look back fondly on it was because we dominated during that era.

Then where does he stand? Which coaches are unequivocally better? Obviously there are arguments to be made for a few guys out there. But Mainieri is still among the absolute best whether you like it or not

Hard to say what the issue and underlying cause is to the problem. Don’t take this statement wrong but I believe it has more to do with players being mentally ready and playing hard to win. PMs teams just dio not look like they bring any swag to the park. It’s like during a series they win 2 and they feel as if they accomplished the goal of winning it but do not take a killer instinct to dominate the third game. To me the lack of mental toughness just carries into midweek games and we find ourself struggling to win against inferior opponents.

Let me start out by saying I think Paul is one of the best coaches in college baseball and lsu2006 is 100% right. You can’t just point to another coach and think he will be a 100% upgrade. (O’Sullivan might be the only one and he’s not leaving UF, but up until last year, he wasted more talent known to man)

My only minor gripes with CPM are he makes odd pitching changes and he promotes former players with little to no experience to his assistants.

Again, these are minor gripes. CPM is one of the best going and we need to appreciate what he’s doing. This year may be rough due to injuries, and I would just like to host a regional, but I’m not gonna go crazy if we don’t.

I would like to see CPM win one more NC before he retires. I mean I’d like to see 2-4, but realistically speaking, I’d like to see him win one more for LSU.

Be honest. You’re only saying this because we lost to Texas Sunday. We were rock solid on sundays last year with Walker.

Just an FYI LSU had 7 sweeps last year and 4 of them were in SEC play. That’s half the series overall and almost half of SEC series and also every chance they had to sweep going into final game they did.

I really thought last year would have proved to everyone that these midweek games are more about development than wins and losses.

You should just resign to the fact that this isn’t going to happen. We pulled our starter after two scoreless innings for God’s sake

I feel like there was a time last year that these words were spoken. How many years in a row does CPM have to do this same thing before people just trust the process. The man knows what it takes to find the right players in the right batting order playing the right positions to make a run late in the year.

A coach that has won it all, has numerous national seeds and was in the final game, just last year-- and your premise is that you don't think he is a big game coach?

Don't get upset that you are catching shite. You deserve it.

Last year? Its every frickin year with these clowns on here.
Lose a midweek game or a weekend series and the whole world is over and LSU sucks

Yet for the last 6 and 8 of the last 10 LSU has been a national seed.

This isn't the late 80's and 90's. There is a ton of talent in college baseball. I think Paul is one of the best coaches going right now. He gets a national see almost every year and has made several deep runs into the postseason and has a National Championship.

National Seed! National Seed!!! It's the new championship!!!

You have to be kidding??? based on what?

Taking a school that already had fan base, resources, tradition, recruiting pipelines, facilities, etc, and making them a national seed every year??

You people have lost your minds!!!
