Of the people who have actually put skin in the game and run for state or national office (and won), they are surprisingly Republican-heavy.

It's almost like you need to be able to do more than just shout nonsense, but that's crazy talk.

From Wikipedia:

Donald Trump (Republican) (President of the United States)
Al Franken (Democrat) (U.S. Senator, Minnesota)
Alan Autry (Republican) (Mayor of Fresno, California)
Arnold Schwarzenegger (Republican) (Governor of California)
Ben Jones (Democrat) (U.S. Congressman, 4th District of Georgia)
Clay Aiken (Democrat) (lost congressional election in 2nd District of North Carolina)
Clint Eastwood (Republican, but describes himself as libertarian) (Mayor of Carmel, California)
Fred Grandy (Republican) (U.S. Representative, Iowa)
Fred Thompson (Republican) (U.S. Senator, Tennessee and unsuccessful presidential candidate)
George Murphy (Republican) (U.S. Senator, California)
Helen Gahagan (Democrat) (U.S. Representative, 14th District of California)
Jack Kelly (Republican) (Mayor of Huntington Beach, Calif)
Jerry Springer (Democrat) (Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio)
Jesse Ventura (formerly Reform; currently Independence Party of Minnesota) (Governor of Minnesota)
John Davis Lodge (Republican) (Governor of Connecticut)
Melissa Gilbert (Democrat) (won party nomination for Michigan Congressional seat but dropped out for medical reasons)
Nancy Kulp (Democrat) (unsuccessful nominee for U.S. House of Representatives, Pennsylvania)
Ralph Waite (Democrat) (unsuccessful nominee for U.S. House of Representatives)
Ronald Reagan (Republican) (Governor of California, President of the United States)
Sheila Kuehl (Democrat) (California State Senator)
Sonny Bono (Republican) (U.S. Representative, 44th District of California)
Stephen Peace (Democrat) (California State Senator)
Wendell Corey (City councilman of Santa Monica, California), (Republican) (unsuccessful candidate for U.S. House of Representatives, California), 1966

What does the bold represent? Thought it referenced who won, but I see winners who aren't in bold.

Also, Ronald Reagan would count (at least his election to Governor of California)

Which ones did not win. Thought I highlighted only winners of state or national office, but I may have missed something and am just not seeing it.

Reagan is listed there.

Well, the eyes in that first pic look like she is speeding the clock up a bit these days. They look like how I feel when Brother Jack and I talk too late into the night.

Yes, gents, she has eyes.

My hypothesis is that Republicans secretly envy Democrats their celebrity following, so they're more easily mesmerized by it in primaries

Also explains why FOX News will say "shut up and act" to Matt Damon or whoever but any conservative with more than three IMDB credits is auto-booked for a guest slot

Well your hypothesis is lacking because they are a tiny sliver of Republican officeholders.

Was she the first lesbian (granted, still in the closet) in a regular TV role?

What the hell is wrong with Minnesota??

I would have thought they were decent, logical, hard working, middle of the road, individualists up there.

Do the Twin City urbs pollute the whole state, or is the whole state whacko.??

I get that but you’d get more running in a competitive seat.
