Fourteen-year-old Lauren Hogg, who survived the Parkland, Florida, school shooting last week but lost four of her friends, rebuked first lady Melania Trump on Friday after Donald Trump Jr. "liked" tweets pushing conspiracy theories about the students.
Hogg's older brother, 17-year-old David Hogg, was the target of such tweets liked by Donald Trump Jr. earlier this week. The conspiracy theories allege Hogg, who has made powerful statements calling for bipartisan action on gun violence, is "running cover for his dad," who is a former FBI agent.
"Hey @FLOTUS, you say that your mission as first lady is to stop cyber bullying," Lauren Hogg tweeted, "well then, don't you think it would have been smart to have a convo with your stepson, @DonaldJTrumpJr, before he liked a post about a false conspiracy theory, which in turn put a target on my back and created a safe space for people all over the world to call me and my family horrific things that constantly re-victimizes us and our community?"
Hogg added: "I'm 14, I should never have had to deal with any of this and even though I thought it couldn't get worse, it has because of your family."
Yes, little miss expects Melania to make a big deal because her adult stepson Don Jr. liked a tweet dealing with her brother the bobble head camera whore.

Perhaps this was exactly what critics of CNN meant when they called its coverage exploitative. Also worth learning that when you jump into politics, even as a “victim”, prepare for people to take off the kid gloves.

So these teens enter the public fray yelling at the sky and criticizing issues and people, and then want to be left alone from responses?
Welcome to the real world young lads and lassies. You need to learn there are different opinions and beliefs. You go public with a politically charged issue and you can expect negative and positive responses.

If I'm on a train, and riding in the 4th from last railcar, and there's an accident that takes out only the last railcar, and everyone in it dies, since technically, I'm on the same train, can I now be called a 'survivor'? I mean, that's kinda close, right?
Isn't that how all these kids that were in another part of the school away from the shootings are being referred to as survivors? I mean, they were close, right?
It's like the watered down definition of any person who's ever served in the military is now an American hero, right? Even though they may have never been out of country?
I feel like some of these kids are using the 'survivor' moniker as cover to give them some sort of special status. "I'm a survivor. How dare you question me!"
